The ace of hearts

season 2 chapter 2

I spent the next day practising my magic to my best extent and by the end of it I could get the photo and frame into my hand without having to use any energy. I decided I should go into town and see what was going on since I did quite a bit today and I should find out what's going on in the outside (Ha). I walked into the square to see everyone freaking out. Jadie was standing next to Ruby as she listen to what they said but as soon as she saw me she ran over crying about everything that happened.

"I know Jadie, I know" I told her embracing her tightly as I lifted her above the ground. I held her in one hand as I walked towards the crowd. Her tears were covering my jacket as I gripped her closer to my body as I walked over to Henry standing by his side as he talked to David. He didn't notice me so to cheer Jadie up I whispered in his ear. "I'm back Henry Mills and I've come to take you to meet my demons." He screamed. Loud petrified and drawing everyone's attention towards us as Henry whirled around to see who said it but I was already gone now with Jadie's hand in mine as we sprinted away so he couldn't catch us. He saw our retreating shapes and ran after us shouting our names as we laughed. When he caught us the three of us just fell about in tears of joy.

"Where were you Lacia?" He asked. Welp sh*t.

"Um just at my lighthouse." I lied shrugging.

"Where I checked the lighthouse you weren't there?" He said sitting up as I sat next to him.

"When did you check? I was there most of the time." I told him. He let the matter drop as he and Jadie went back to the apartment while I headed towards the town hall to relax and practice in quite.

It wasn't quite! Apparently David was going to give a speech but he hadn't arrived yet. I sat in silence at the back of the hall listening to the conversations as I observed the people around me many having harsh or annoyed conversations mainly around Regina.

Henry came inside and sat by me smiling at me and whispering "Jadie's at home sleeping and David's on his way." He explained as we joked around and chat like we used too Ruby joined us and they tried to call David a few times too no avail. We had fun until the doors opened with a bang. I jumped as I turned around in shock.

Regina: My... What a nice turnout. No need for a fuss. It's just little old me.

Dr. Hopper: Regina, think about what you're doing.

Regina: Bug.

Dr. Hopper: Aah!

Leroy: Hey!

Regina: How sweet.

Ruby: What do you want?!

Henry: Me. She wants me. Okay, I'll come with you. Just... leave them alone.

Regina: That's my boy.

Henry took a step forward towards her and she almost took him in her arms when I grabbed him holding him back I heard a collective gasp from most of the people gathered. " Ace what are you doing? I'm the one she wants." He said trying to pull away. " I need to save everyone."

I took a deep breath holding back a few tears of exasperation as I said " I know Hen. But where you go I go." People stared in shock but Regina spoke up.

"Why not darling come along now both of you." She said as I walked over to her slowly as I took Henry's hand in mine squeezing lightly. We shared a look and nodded as Regina took us both lightly into her arms disappearing.

Henry tried to sneak out the window as soon as we got up stairs. He used his old rope from when we went to find Emma but was stopped by a tree on the way down. Literally it grabbed him. Regina came up and watched him struggle waiting for him to calm down.

Regina: (sighs) Now I don't want you to think that things are just going to go back to how they used to be. Henry. (Henry is held by a barrier spell outside his window.) Don't fight it, honey. You'll get a splinter.

Henry: How long am I in prison? Until I grow up?

Regina: Henry, I rescued you because I love you.

Henry: So I'm a prisoner because you love me.

Me: Welp it's a better reason then some. Henry glared at me harshly.

Regina: That's not fair. You know where I come from. That was really not fair. Of all the places I've seen, this is the fairest of them all.

Henry: You ruined lives. You sent away Mary Margaret and Emma.

Regina: That was an accident.

Me: Hen I was there she tried to save them.

Henry: The way you treated me wasn't an accident. You made it so no one believed me. You made me feel like I was crazy.

Me: Henry's got a point Regina you made mistakes I wouldn't have scars covering my body and nightmares at least once a week. But you can change!

Regina: And that is all gonna change now. Henry, you can know all the secrets. You can live in a house with magic. Look what I could do. (Chuckles) And I can teach you. You can do this and so much more. You can have all the friends you want come over any time, and you can show them everything in your book.

Henry: No one's gonna want to come over here. They're scared of you.

Me: Petrified!

Regina: You can make them not be scared. You can make them love you.

Me: that logic seems kinda flawed Regina.

Henry: I don't want that. I don't want to be you.

Me: There's different kinds of magic Hen. Emma has magic.

Henry: Look where that got her!

Me: True. Come on Hen lets just relax.

Regina left after handing us each a cupcake the size of our head and as I started eating mine which was delicious Henry was trying to find a way to get out of here. Weirdo. He tried about 50 different things and always got caught by the barrier spell. I had to keep helping him up and act natural before Regina comes in. She was super confused by the end of it. After a few hours David came and Regina let him take Henry home. He didn't want to take me. After they left Regina looked at me smiling lightly as I walked up the large oak staircase into my bedroom. The room was plain and very pink (gag) I decided to get the old picture of henry and I and a few other decorations from the tree house. I would be stuck here for a while so I had to do something to pass the time didn't I.

As I was summoning the last of the decorations I felt a pair of eyes digging into the back of my head. I turned to see Regina watching me.

"Your getting better Lacey!" She said sitting by my side.

"Thanks Regina." I said looking away. She took my hand lightly and drew my chin up to look at her.

"I could teach you." She said looking me in the eye.

"I don't want to be like you. EVIL." I said taking my hand from her grasp and putting the last decorations in place.

"I can teach you the basics. Like how to summon that cupcake like I did back there I can show you how to teleport and how to turn lights on." She told me. "Everyone's magic is different, you choose what to do with it!" I turned around to face her with a small nod.

"When can I start?" I asked.

"Now" She said bringing us both out to the back garden in a cloud of purple smoke. "Imagine a cupcake in your hand. A small one. Use your emotions channel them into your power." I took a deep breath closing my eyes and picturing a small cupcake in my hand with lemon icing. I channeled all the sadness I was feeling into it. A small cupcake in my hand it was about the size of a small rubber ball. I smiled lightly and ate it home before drifting off into Regina's arms.
