"Emily. We're having our friends over and they're bringing John. So please be a good girl and try to be nice to him. Please?" Begged my mother Priscilla. I felt my heart stop. "But he's the mean one." I argued. She smiled and rolled her green eyes. "That means he likes you." She chuckled and I heard my dad come downstairs. "Who my likes my little girl?" He asked fixing his hair. "The neighbors son, John." She replied. Ifiddled with my white dress and black school girl shoes. "I hate him." I mumbled. My dad sat me down on his lap and said "Now darlin', you're just gonna have to put up with him for a little. Okay?" He tickled me and I laughed and fell off his lap. He quickly stood me up and cleaned off my dress. "You alright?" He asked checking me everywhere. I nodded and rubbed my head. "I'm fine."

The door bell rang twenty minutes later. In came Two adults and their evil little son. "Hello there princess." Cooed John's father lifting me up into the air. He whispered to me "I made John promise to be nice to you today. Don't worry." I smiled. He set me down and our parents went into the living room to talk. I looked down at the ground and said as polite as I could "Hi John." He scoffed and gently shoved me back into the wall. "I'm not gonna be nice to a prissy little princess." I looked up at him and said "And I'm not gonna be nice to a mean little troll." His face went from anger to shock. He walked into the living room and I walked into the backyard to catch some butterflies. I managed to catch one and held in my hand and slowly let it go."Hey princess. Get in." Said John. I stood up and said nothing, walking more into the yard. John rolled his eyes and followed me. "I said get in." He demanded. I ignored him and kept walking away. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the door. "John, that hurts." I whined. His grip had left my wrist red and pulsing from his abnormally strong grip. "Well you were ignoring me." He said looking down at me.

"Because you said I was a princess, so I decided to be one and ignore you." I replied. He left me and went inside. I heard thunder and felt small raindrops fall on my long black hair. It's raining. That's why he came out. I ran inside and heard laughter from our parents. "Hey princess, I'm hungry." I shrugged and walked away toward the stairs that lead to my room. "What do yiou want me to do about it?" I snapped. He stayed quiet and followed behind me. "What do you want?" I questioned as he followed. He shrugged and kept walking with me. I stuck my tongue out at him and he laughed. "You're such a six year old." I chuckled and retorted "I'm more matture than you." He chuckled back and pretended to be out of breath from laughing. "So funny John."

"Emily, John, dinner is ready." Called my mom. We went downstairs and saw our parents left two chairs next to each other empty. I took a seat next to my mom and John sat next to me. "Well, don't you two look cute." Said John's mom. I rolled my eyes and John joked "You must have the wrong kids." They all laughed, including me. After dinner, Our parents sat talking even more while me and John sat in the living room by the fire trying to get warm. "You look like you're about to pass out." He said quietly. I looked over at him and said "Because you suck the life out of everything." I turned back to the fire and kept trying to stay awake. "You're sleepy aren't you?" He asked.

"No, I just want to rest my eyes."

"No, you're sleepy."

"Why are you annoying?"

"Because it's fun to mess with you."

"It's annoying."

"Not for me."

"Whatever princess."

"I'm not a princess." I hissed.

"Whatever you say princess." He chuckled.

Our parents walked in and my cision went black. I felt something soft and kinda hard under me. I also noticed that it kept moving, as if it was uncomfortable or trying to get comfortable. The crackling of the fire made me feel so cozy and safe. I felt a hand on my head and something softer under my head. "Do you think she's sleeping?" Asked a female voice. I was so exhausted from hating John that I didn't realize I had fallen asleep with my head on John's lap. I stirred a little and held onto his arm tighter thinking it was my blanket. "I'll take her up." Said my dad. I felt myself floating and being held tightly to his strong chest. "Mmm, down." I said wiggling a bit. "Almost there." He said. The door to my room creaked open and soon I felt my soft bed under me and my blanket thrown over me. "Good night doll." He said as he kissed my forehead.

 John's POV

She had fallen asleep hugging her knees, so I tilted her towards me so she could at least be comfortable, but I didn't calculate how close she was to me. So when she tilted, she fell into my lap and I couldn't get her off me because she seemed to be cozied up already. "So John, you hate her?" Asked my dad. I was at a loss for words so all I could do was scoff and roll my eyes. "Hey Priscilla, take a look over there." He pointed to me and Emily. She awwed and oohed and her face went pink. "You two look adorable. Hold it right there, I need a picture of this." I felt my face redden with embarassment. I felt her grip on my arm tighten and i shifted a bit to make her a little more comfortable. "Awww, now that's how you treat a lady John." Said my mother. "Ma she just...." I couldn't even finish explainig when Priscilla came back with the camera. She took a few snaps and showed her husband. I still couldn't believe Emily was related to Elvis Presley.
