Emma's POV
In all of my life I had never met someone like her. She was beautiful. Every part of her made me want to kiss her and touch her. Run my fingers through her long black hair, stare into her dark drown eyes and make her mine. And Something I learned about being as old as I am, when you see something like this, you can't just let it go. But after a using females for sex to feast on their blood, I couldn't think of anything normal to do that wouldn't seem to pushy or to quick. I knew I didn't actually have food in my home, yet her she was.

I walked into the kitchen and looked around like maybe I had food in there, just to make it look like I did. And before long looked at her. "So I don't have any food. But maybe we can go out and get something?" I watch her as her lips curl into a smile. She puts a strand of hair behind her ear and nods. "I would like that." I can't help but smile that she said yes. I walk forward happily. "Well let me go get on some shoes and then we can head out?" She nods as I walk out of the room and upstairs where my boxes of shoes sit. I put on a pair of black stilettos that match the black sundress I'm wearing. I look at myself up and down quickly before heading downstairs to her.

She is still standing in the kitchen with a smile on her face. "Let's go!" I say cheerfully making her turn and look at me. She stares at me for a quick second as if to take in the sight before walking towards me. "Okay, I'm ready." She heads outside and I follow behind. "I'll drive if that's okay with you." I state walking towards my car. "Of course it is." She says shortly and sounding nervous. I turn to her and stare in her eyes. "You have nothing to worry about. I promise." She blushes and turns her head. I let out a chuckle before opening her door for her. "Get in." I say holding it open. She gets in and I walk to my side and start the car up.

"What kind of food do you like?" I ask her as she sits nervously in the passenger seat. She looks at me. "I like all foods," she states staring at me with these eyes that made me wonder if I was the only one getting lost in this persons eyes in front of me or if maybe she also was breath-taken by what was in front of her. With that I started driving towards the inner town where I had seen a small grill on one of the corners.

As I drive she decides to ask the question. "So Emma, what brings you to Black Cliff?" I look over at her cautiously. I had prepared this over and over in my mind on what I would say but I felt vulnerable around her. Which for my age, is new. "Well," I start slowly. "I needed a new start. Life back where I was from wasn't what I wanted anymore." She stared at me, obviously not convinced by my answers. "No. I'm serious. We haven't had a new person in Black Cliff since Before I could remember. The Black Forest drives everyone out. Anyone who even wants to come here wants to study the monsters in the forest." She says forest while using quotation symbols with her hands. "Why of all places in the world, did you choose here?" My mind races quickly to think of an answer.

"Lacey," I say slowly, making sure to watch what I say. "Have you ever looked out at pouring rain or even at a starry night and thought about life. Like actually thought about it. Thought about your past and the events that have gotten you here?" I look over at her and she gives a slow nod. "Well, One day I was sitting out there on a dark night staring at the sky and the stars in the sky twinkled softly up there, and I thought to myself, what am I doing? I've been around for a while and I haven't accomplished anything. I have been running around trying to be someone I am not when the truth is, I can't run away from it. I needed something different. I needed something new. And I ended up here." I look around. "Here in the heart of a place no one dares to stay. It's the start of an adventure, on that I've been waiting along time to start."

By the time I finish what I was saying I am pulling up the grill. "Anyways, here we are." She looks out the window and instantly looks happy. "This is my favorite place to eat!" She jumps out of the car and I do as well and we enter the restaurant. It's a small little place, but it fits the small town in the middle of the forest vibe. We both sit down at a booth before a lady with curly brown hair walks up. She holds a small pad of paper in her hands. "Well hello Lacey. Long time since I've seen you in here. How's your brother doing?" I watch Lacey smile and happiness fade as she looks down and frowns. "Same as always." The lady frowns. "I'm sorry to hear that. Well, I'll get you your usual right away." The lady looks over at me. "And how about you young lady?" I smile and shake my head. "A water would be nice right now." The lady walks away. I look back over at Lacey whose expressions hasn't changed. I don't want to push the subject so I try to comfort her. "Are you okay?" She nods slowly before looking up. "I'm fine."

We sit there in silence for a while before someone comes up to us. "Lacey!" She sits next to Lacey. "Girl, are you going to the party tonight?" Lacey instantly looks like nothing was bothering her and puts a smile on her face. "Of course!" She looks over at me. "Do you want to come?" I look at them both and smile. "I would love too." The girl stands up excitedly. "Good. See you both there!" After that girl leaves, Lacey continues to stay quiet the entire rest of the meal. I tried to talk to her but she was very distant so I stopped trying. I finally ordered food but didn't eat any of course. I soon drove her back to our neighborhood and I couldn't take it anymore.

"Listen, I don't know what happened back there, but I'm here if you need anything okay?" She looks over at me and nods with a small smile. "Thank you." She opens the door and looks in before closing the door. "I'll see you tonight she says and walks inside. I sat there in the car for a while not able to move because I was shocked. I haven't had these feelings in a long time, but I felt so sorry for her. And I wanted to fix it all and make the pain go away. I didn't know what happened but I wanted to be there for her and comfort her. And I knew that meant I had to get close to her.
