  The sunlight was beaming down straight into my eye. I opened one eye then the next. I sat up to fast and ended up becoming very dizzy. I looked around at my surroundings, suddenly remembering everything. I groaned and Gunpowder lifted his head to stare at me.

  My throat was sore and dry, I took out a small bowl, and poured water in it for Gunpowder. He quickly drank the cool liquid. I drank the rest out of the bottle, knowing we only had 7 bottles left. I stood up, and looked out the window, and there was no one there. I unlocked the shed door and walked out, with Gunpowder right there. Wait, I stopped myself. Then I remembered, so I walked back inside the shed. I came out with a red axe.

  "Alright, c'mon boy." I said to him.

   ~~~~~~~ Afternoon~~~~~~~~~~~
    My stomache was growling so loud, anything from a mile could have heard it. The pain in my stomache was almost unbearable. I knew I would have to find something to eat soon. That's when I saw a squirrel just sitting there, and I knew I was going to have to eat something, anything, if I want to survive.
  So, I grabbed some nuts and walked slowly toward the squirrel, with the axe behind my back. Once the sqirrel spotted me he stopped and stared. I showed him the nuts in my hands, and he stared at them. He started to walk slowly toward them, until he was right there. I slowly revealed the axe, and lifted it above my head. I looked at the squirrel who was still eating the nuts.I pulled the axe down on the squirrel as fast and as hard as I could. I didn't notice I had my eyes closed, until I saw the bloody sight in front of me. I wated to cry, but I pushed those feelings down in my stomache, with everything else. I grabbed the squirrel, and the blood colored axe and got on Gunpowder's back, and rode.
  After an hour or so, we came to an old looking house. This time instead of passing it, I decided to check it out. We came up to the gate, where a statue of 2 birds were sitting. The looked almost real, except one of the bird's tails had chipped off. I jumped of Gunpowder's back and opened the gate, and walked through. My stomache pains have grown dramatically since this morning, I was tempted to eat this squirrel raw, but I knew I couldn't. Once I was at the door of the house I knocked on it.
  "Hello?" I said to the door. "Anyone there?"
  I didn't get a reply, so I let myself in. The first thing I saw was the fireplace, the weird thing was, that it was burning. I saw a set of stairs, and heard some coughing. I was scared to go up, but I needed to meet the person that owns or lives in this house.
   " Stay here Gunpowder." I whispered. I quietly walked up the stairs, and heard some whispering on the first door to the right. I walked up to it, and knocked slowly. Instead of whispering I heard footsteps coming closer, until the stopped at the door. The door opened slowly, and I saw a man in a nurse outfit looking at me.
   "Who are you?" He said with a rather strong voice. At that moment I lost the ability to talk. But I gained it back again when I heard a small voice in the background asking "Who is it Johnny?"
   "My name is Reese." I mumbled.
   " Your gonna have to speak up kid." Johnny said.
   " My name is Reese." I said louder. The small voice in the background  said " Let her in Johnny."
   Johnny opened the door wide enough for me to walk through, and on the bed was an old lady, she was pale and green.
    "Your name is Reese huh?" The lady said.
   "Yes, and your name?" I asked.
   "Is Penelope." She finished for me. "What brought you here at my house?"
