[3] A Long Road Ahead

"This is perfect." Sam grinned as I had just finished explaining. "What is?" Colby asked as he walked in. He plopped down next to me on the couch. "Y/N found us a place to explore while we're out in Arizona." Sam gleamed and Colby perked up.

"Dude awesome! So you're coming with us then?" He asked me and I laughed nervously "Uh I don't think-" Sam cuts me off, "No Y/N you should come with us! You know all about that place and so you need to explain it." Sam grins and my heart races a bit.

"I-I mean I can..." I say and they cheer. "Yeah dude this is gonna be sick." Colby adds in and I laugh.

"Guess I better go pack." I shrug and add in. "Yeah uh probably..." Sam says and I look at him curiously.

"So we didn't really want to catch a flight, we're just going to drive and we plan on going today in about-" Sam turns his wrist as if he's checking the time on a watch. Yet he doesn't have one. "3 hours." He looks back up at me with an apologetic smile.

"Okay well uhhh gotta hurrryyy." I sing as I race to the back door and they both laugh.

[3 hours later] (A/N anyone else hear the Spongebob mono-tone voice in that or is it just me?)

I dragged my suitcase to the car Colby took it from me and put it in the trunk. I thanked him as I sat in the back.

"Y/N you're leaving us already?!" Corey asked, I had my window down and I laughed. "Uh.. Managing business?" I shrugged as Corey was vlogging.

He groaned "Well who else is supposed to clean our house at one in the morning now after a party?" He says loudly and I laugh. "I'll only be gone for like two days Corey calm down." Corey just groans and stomps off.

Sam gets in the passenger side and plugs in his phone to the aux. "Hope ya don't mind." I shrug and show him I have earbuds I grabbed from my room.

I see Colby exit the house as he had gone inside to go grab some waters previously. He was talking to someone though, behind him appeared Aaron. They laughed and Colby waved as he walked to the car, keys in his hand.

"Everyone ready to go?" Colby asks and Sam cheers loudly. I just give a little shy 'woo' as Colby starts the car.

Sam plays an unfamiliar song as they both rock out I smile, I pop in some earbuds and jam out to my own music.

[1 and a half hours later]

It was dark now and Colby was still driving, Sam had fallen asleep 30 minutes ago and I had taken out my earbuds awhile ago and I was just looking out my window.

I heard Colby clear his throat. "So uh, where'd you live previously?" I turn my head to meet Colby's piercing blue eyes in the rear-view mirror for a moment.

"Oh well I lived in Y/HT for awhile." I smile a bit. "How's it there?" He asks another question. I shrug "It can be... intresting." I chuckle a bit and he smiles.

I could feel my heart flutter a bit. "So about the job you have... How do you feel about it?" Colby asks, his tone changing from joyus to serious in an instant.

"I actually really enjoy it." I sit back and continue "I'm glad you guys took me in, I do have to say the job is different but I defenitely like it that way. Much better than a boring cubical desk job." I smile and Colby nods, his concentration on the road.
