Different Expectations

        First day of senior year and so far nothing interesting. The classes are really boring and every teacher is so strick. To be honest I wish I could just go back home. But that would make me miss school hours and and I have a test next week. Lunch began and I sat down at a table with my friends. Pidge, Keith, Shiro, Hunk, Allura, and Lotor. 

        We talked about dumb shit and all before lunch ended. The rest of the day went by quickly, soon enough school was over. As I stepped outside I felt droplets of water fall on my skin. It was cool and soothing. I rode my bike home through the rain. I got home and opened the door. I walked around and found my dad passed out on the couch. 'Again? Really dad?' . I picked up the beer bottles and placed them on the counter. I ran upstairs and went to my room. I quickly did my homework, not caring if I messed up on the answers.

         I really just wanted to go outside. Play in the rain like I did as a little kid. I felt something wet run down my cheek. Tears. I was getting nostalgic wasn't I? I never wanted to grow up. I didn't want to have to deal with high school problems. But now I am. And there's no turning back.

          "Lance? You home yet?" dad said from downstairs. "Yeah dad! I'm here.." I called back down. I ran downstairs and hugged my dad "You said you would quit. Come on dad I know you can do it." I said tears trying to force themselves out of my eyes. "I know son, I'll try harder next time, I promise" he said. "Please do." I said biting back tears. "Thanks for always believing in me" he said as he smiled. I smiled in return "Your welcome" I said as I sighed " I'm going outside. See you in a bit, dad" "See you, son".
