Walking down the pavement, the air was filled with horns honking and people yelling over each other.  We saw a shopping centre down the road from the hotel earlier from the taxi, so we decided to head in that direction. As we are walking into the shops,  I see a huge woman in sparkly pink shorts walking past a man in a top hat and tails. Further down the street is a marching band playing the national anthem. It seems that in London everything is possible. As we walk into the shopping centre, I can see a few shops that we have back home, but mostly new ones that I have never seen before.

'Hey, do you want to eat first or shop first?' I said to Taylor, spotting a tiny outdoor  café near us.

'Nah, we can eat after.' she said, already heading for the nearest shop.

I run to catch up to her, entering the shop to be overwhelmed by a froth of pink and roses. As soon as she entered, Taylor did an abrupt turn and walked out, grabbing my elbow and pulling me out of the shop backwards.

'Nope, not there. Next!' she called, almost bursting my eardrums, as we walked down to the next store.

‘Hmm... nope, nope... aha! Here we go...’ she said, walking into another shop full of dresses that looked either way too short or way too Gothic and black to me.

‘Really?’ I said, looking doubtfully at the racks of clothes.

‘Sure! Look, this one will be perfect for you!’ Taylor says, grabbing a dress off the rack that looks like it was attacked by a bear.

‘Yeah, right. It’s easy for you to talk, you look good in everything!’  I said, putting my hands on my hips and looking at her. It was true.  Taylor was just one of those naturally gorgeous people. ‘Plus, it’s pink. I hate pink. Especially THAT pink. It looks like a pink cat ate a pink can of pink salmon and threw up all over it.’

‘See, this is why we're friends’ Taylor laughed, putting the dress back on the rack. ‘Why a cat?’

‘I don’t know, it was the first thing I thought of that ate salmon.’ I said, flipping through the dresses on another rack.

'Ewww...' Taylor shuddered, pulling a disgusted face. 'Salmon..' There was little that Taylor hated more than seafood.

We browsed in silence for a while , flipping through the racks of clothes on hangers.

'How about this one?'  Taylor asked,  holding up a casual royal blue and black dress that had an extremely low neckline. Only she would fancy a neckline that low, I thought to myself.

'Yes, totally! It's perfect for you!' I said examining the dress.

'For me? I picked it out for YOU!' Taylor said.

'Ha ha. No. It's perfect for YOU!' I said pushing her and the dress towards the changing rooms at the back of the shop .

'Okay, okay, I'm going!' said Taylor, hitting my hands away. 'But you better be prepared for disappointment!'

I folded my arms and glared at her. No way would I be disappointed. This dress was MADE for her.

                                                       *        *        *

'Okay, I'm ready!' called Taylor from the other side of the changing room door.

'Kay, come out then' I called back.

'Is anyone watching?' she said.

'What, are you scared they'll get jealous of your stunningness?'

She opened the door and glared at me.

'Yeah, because I'm totally stunning.' she said, narrowing her eyes at me.

'You know, you're right, you are!' I said, sticking my tongue out at her. 'Now come out here so I can see properly.'

Taylor slowly came around the door. I was speechless. She looked simply amazing. The colour of the dress perfectly set off her slightly tanned skin and highlighted her eyes, especially since she got blue contacts last year.

'See, it's so horrible you're speechless.' she said.

'No, it's so amazing I'm speechless. You have to buy it!'

'Really?' Taylor said, turning and looking in the mirror behind the door. She turned, trying to see the back.

'Really.' I assured her. 'It's perfect.'

On our way to the counter,  Taylor ran over to a dress with zombie unicorns printed all over it.

'But Mummmyyyy....I WANT THAAAAT ONNNE!' She whined, pretending to be a child.

'Oh shut up and buy the dress!" I sighed, rolling my eyes at her.

As we walked up to the counter, I saw a man, with his back to us, with his pants hanging halfway down his butt. Ironically, he was looking at a rack of belts.

'Nice undies.' I whispered sarcastically to Taylor, who snickered, then suddenly froze.

'Sophia…' Taylor whispered, a strange expression on her face. 'Look at his underwear'

'Yeah, so?' I said, confused.

'What's on them?' she said, still wide-eyed.

'Umm.. His pants?' I still wasn't seeing where this was going.

'Sophia. They're SONIC. Ring any bells?'

Something clicked in my head. 'Ohhh. You think it's… Taylor, there's no way that’s Dan. It's too much of a coincidence. Plus, Dan has straight hair. This guy's  hair is curly.'

Taylor turned to me, grinning. I slapped my hand over her mouth but wasn't quite fast enough. 'HOBBIT HAIR!!'  she yelled, attracting the whole shop's attention. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the man flinch and put his hand up to his head protectively. Just before he turned around, I pulled Taylor behind a rack of dresses.

'Taylor!' I exclaimed. 'You do not just yell out like that! What if it actually WAS him? Do you think he wants to be yelled at in the middle of a shop?' I risked a quick peek over the top of the rack. The guy was nowhere in sight.  I stepped out from behind our hiding spot.

'Okay, lets go buy that dress!'

'But you still haven't got a dress' she said, making puppy eyes at me.

'We'll get it at the next shop. Let's go.' I laughed at her expression. 'Okay, you're forgiven'

'Yay!' she skipped ahead of me, giggling.

'And Taylor?

'Yeah?'

'Stop being stupid.'
