CHAPTER EIGHT;
SOS

LYDIA QUICKLY PACED into allison and malia's room. "i was tossing and turning all night!" lydia flopped down onto malia's bed. malia was a hungover mess her makeup smudged all over the pillows.

meanwhile allison was trying to wake her up. "those three men are still loose on this island somewhere!" lydia laid down to immediately get back up again, to say she was a mess was an understatement.

allison grabbed her arms and rubbed them soothingly "lyds, its all under control. i'm taking scott of to do some finishing or something and issac has talked malia into some... water sports..." malia groaned loudly.

way into the day, lydia was helping clean up around the island, cleaning up the mess of last night. not her life, she wished that mess would just disappear. while she was cleaning betty quickly ran passed her trying not to be noticed but failed.

"hey!" lydia spoke causing her to turn around.

"mom what? she spoke hesitantly.

"you okay?" lydia walked towards her concerned.

"yeah i'm fine." betty reluctantly spoke before trying to walk away but was stopped by her mother.

"woah, woah, woah, betty... last night y-you and jughead what's wrong? tell me baby... tell me what's wrong..." she brushed a piece of her hair behind her ear.

tears flooded her vision, she stuttered before finally speaking "i don't know what to do..." lydia immediately pulled her in for a hug kissing her head.

"you don't have to do anything," lydia told her. "it's not too late i can still call off the wedding..." betty pulled away from her grasp "everybody will understa-"

"c-call of the wedding," she interrupted.

"isn't that what you want?" lydia asked her.

"no... no" she shook her head. "no, that's what you want!" lydia immediately shook her head.

"no.."

"yes! god!" she scoffed and ran her hands through her hair.

"betty!"

"ugh, you have no idea! you never had a wedding! you never did the marriage and baby thing, you just did the baby thing. well good for you!"

"you know i don't know why your going off on me!" lydia threw her hands up in air.

"because!" betty shouted in frustration.

"i don't know!" lydia shouted back.

"because!" she screamed tears slowly started falling. "god i love jughead and i want to be with him!"

"good!" lydia shouted starting to clean up again.

"and i don't want my children growing up... not knowing who there father is... because it's just... it's crap!" she screamed before running off. lydia's eyes went soft as she felt sorry for the poor girl.

a few of the boys including jughead were making a lot of racket. lydia still frustrated shouted at them telling them to clean up and go get ready. she sighed rubbing her head as they walked away.

"i see you kept my jeep..." a masculine voice spoke causing her to turn and face him. she saw stiles and ignored him trying to walk off.

"what are you doing here stiles?" she began cleaning up again.

"this is our dream remember... a hotel on the island."

"yeah, well this is my reality." she continued cleaning. "hard work and a crippling mortgage... and," she began to chuckle. "a hotel that's crumbling around me..."

"let me help..." he began.

"it's alright." she smiled but he protested.

"why didn't you tell me betty was getting married?" he asked the dreaded question.

"well, i didn't think it was any of your business." she truthfully said.

"why is she getting married? if it was up to me i'd be telling her to go get a life."

"yeah..." lydia agreed.

"she's a bright kid." he smiled thinking about her, his daughter.

"i know, i know. but you know, my daughter has a mind of her own..." she sighed.

"i see that." he agreed. "betty doesn't want to go anywhere be anyone because she doesn't want to leave you on your own..."

"woah, woah, woah, he's the thing." she pointed at him. "i love being on my own, i really do, everyday i get up and i thank god that i don't have some sarcastic spaz telling me how to run my life, and i'm free and i'm single..." she told him along with many hand movements.

"and it's..." she sighed. "it's great.." you could tell behind those strong and piercing emerald eyes she was hurting. she always put up a strong facade but without her daughter she was alone.

"where are those happy days lyds, they seem so hard to find..." he asked her softly. "i try to reach for you but you have closed your mind."

"what ever happened to our love i wish i understood, it used to be so nice... it used to be so good..." she shook her head tears coming into view and ran away from him quickly.

he chased after her. "the love you gave me nothing else could save me, SOS. when your gone lyds how can i even try to go on..." hurting he walked away slowly.

she watched him walk away tears overflowing her eyes. "i really tried to make it out stiles, i wished i understood, what happened to our love, it used to be so good." she sighed holding onto herself

"the love you gave me nothing nothing else could save me, SOS. when your gone sti how can i even try to go on..." she walked away her heart once again broken because of him.

"when your gone how can i even try to go on..." they both spoke walking in the opposite direction of their fate.

"when your gone... though i try... how can i... carry on..." the melancholy and bitter feeling sticking to their tongues.

meanwhile elsewhere on the island malia and issac were engaging in their water sports, mainly issac, malia was there just looking pretty, tanning.

"lydia must be going mad, with all this wedding planning... so tell me... malia what would the father of the bride normally do?"

"pay." she spoke. "my father drew the line at three." she shrugged. he slowly got up.

"excuse me." he dived in.

"issac!" he swam away knowing exactly what he needed to do to be the best father to betty.
