Sleep had come easily, and waking up was harder then I remembered, "Lou, wake up we have to catch a plane." Harry said rolling me off the bed and onto the floor. "Okay Okay I'm up chill out." I say getting up off the floor, "We have to catch a flight to Cheshire to see my parents, remember we made this plan like a week ago." Harry said tossing a plaid shirt at me and a pair of light blue jeans. "Get dressed, I'll pack some stuff." He said tossing the deodorant onto the bed. I roll my eyes, "Why don't you wake me up earlier then this?" I ask sarcastically checking the time 4:23am.

"You don't want to disappoint Mum do ya?" Harry said tossing some clothes and boxers into the one suitcase. I pull off my night shirt and slip the sleeves of the button down on, "Good choice of shirt Harry." I say looking at it in the mirror. "I'm glad you like my style choice," Harry replied smirking at me, "Now get some pants on and meet me in the car." Harry said kissing me quickly before taking the suitcase and heading downstairs.

I take the pants and pull them up smiling at how quickly Harry could pick out something that coordinated well. I put on some deodorant and head downstairs stopping only for a minute to grab a granola bar and a cup of coffee. After the coffee is in a travel mug I make my way out to the car where Harry is sitting in the driver's seat on his phone. “You ready?” I ask getting in and putting the coffee in the front left hand cup holder.

“Yeah, let’s get to the airport.” Harry started the car and backed out slowly; he put the car in drive and stepped on the gas. We drive only a short time before I turn on the radio, ‘You don’t know your beautifu-u-u-ul that’s what makes you beaut-i-ful’ I change the station quickly not wanting to relive the ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ Stage. ‘Walk in the club like what up’ I switch the station, ‘All the cool kids they seem to get it’ not wanting to station surf I turn it off quickly and look at Harry who is focused entirely on the road.

“The last time we went to see your parents they didn’t know that either of us were gay… let alone for each other.” I say biting my lip thinking about what they may say. Were they going to kick me out? Would they accept it? Those two questions were the ones that roamed around in my head every day. “What’s up Lou? You look nervous.” Harry said patting my leg, and smiling. “I am Harry, I’ve been very nervous about seeing your family again, last time we seen them I was with Eleanor and you were single. I just don’t want them to hate us… That’s all” I say looking down at the phone that sat perfectly in my lap. “It’ll be fine Louis; we just have to show them that we’re just like any other couple that’s walks after… In Love” Harry said returning his gaze back to the road after only a split second of looking at me.

After the long drive to the airport Harry finally makes the last turn from the highway, “We can do this.” Harry told me smiling again, it was 6:02am now and we still needed some real food before going on a plane. I grab the bag out of the trunk when Harry finds a parking spot, “Ready to get this done?” He asked lacing our fingers together and smiling, I nod quickly and smiling at him as we walk towards the doors.

“HARRY!” I hear and then a ton of screams, how do they know where we’re going to be even when we don’t tell them? I ask myself letting go of Harry allowing him to meet some people as I get through Security. He signs some photos and takes some pictures with the girls, “Thanks” I hear from the distance and turn to find Harry quickly making his way to/through security. “How was meeting people?” I ask when he gets to me. “It was actually really awkward, usually you answer questions about us being gay but this time it was me.” He replied laughing only for a moment before dragging me to the closest McDonalds.

I get some hash browns and an Egg McMuffin and Harry gets Fries and a cheese burger, “Why are you getting supper food?” I ask taking a huge bite out of my hash brown causing me to burn the roof of my mouth, “Because the breakfast food is gross.” He answered taking a bite of his cheese burger and smiling; I shrug it off and finish eating. “Where are we staying when we get to Cheshire?” I ask after putting all my garbage into the bag we were given. “Probably the spare room if it’s okay with Mum.” Harry spoke between mouthfuls of fries; I simply nod and give up on any type of conversation while he was eating.

We board the plane and take our seats, arguing about who got the window seat, he liked the curtain up and I preferred it down. “You got it last time.” I tell him putting my hands on my hips, he rolled his eyes giving in seeing as he had woke me up at almost 4:30am he slouched down in the seat next to me and rested his head onto my shoulder. “I love you.” Harry whispers grabbing my hand and sitting like that for a moment. “We have lots of time to cuddle, 10 hours and 10 minutes to be exact.” I tell him as the seatbelt light came on; we both buckle up and get ready for takeoff as everyone begins to take their seats.

The Seatbelt light went out and Harry put up the arm rest between us, there were few to no people on our flight which was nice. “Time to cuddle!” Harry said happily resting his head back onto my shoulder and smiling up at me. “I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to spend the next 10 hours and 10 minutes on a plane with.” I tell him kissing his forehead and resting my head on top of his. “Nor could I. I’m glad I’m spending this time with you.” He said handing me a stick of gum to chew while we sit and talk.

Nothing could have made those moments better, alone and happy that really was all we could ask for. But eventually it had to come to an end, “Passengers please buckle your seat belts as we descend. We will be landing in Heathrow, to ensure safety please close all trays and turn off all cell phones.” We did as we were told returning the arm rest back to where we found it. It was 4:40pm… 5 when we finally got out and got our luggage.

Harry’s mum and dad were waiting for us, his mother smiling brightly at both of us, and his father just staring off into space. “Glad you see you two made it alive.” She said hugging him and then me, “I’m so happy to see you again Anne.” I say kissing her cheek quickly, Harry just looked at his dad, they didn’t get along too well, never had. “Why don’t we go?” His mom said grabbing the handle of the suitcase and pulling it along. I smile at Harry and link our arms. His mom was very positive to give it a chance it had seemed, but his dad not so much. “You boys will love what I did to the house.” His mom said looking back and smiling at us. “Oh, and you’ll be sharing Harry’s room if that’s okay.” She said smiling even bigger. I wondered why his dad was even here, he didn’t agree with anything and Harry’s parents weren’t together anymore. When Harry said we would be visiting his parents he meant his mom.

“Desmond I’ll drop you off at your apartment.” She said after a minute of him mumbling incoherent words to himself. He just nods and goes back to groaning about whatever it was. The drive was long and silent, much longer then the three hours that it was. Nobody spoke, Harry and I held hands tightly and looked forward, only a couple times did Anne try to make small talk but to no avail… The tension was so thick you would need a chainsaw to cut through it. The vibe Desmond gave off said ‘I do not agree with any type of relationship Harry has with his ex band mates.’ And his mom just gave off that usual happy vibe of ‘I’m happy that my son is happy’. “Harry, when we get back can you give me the tour, it has been so long since I was here.” I say smiling at him, he nods and then looks at his phone. I guess any type of conversation was prohibited when dad was around.
