Midnight walked up to the podium, as the students walked out, everyone was on the edge of their seats. Midnight started off talking about the first challenge, which was the obstacle race, and Bakugou went up on stage as representative of class 1-A basically pissing off every student that participated, 1-A wasn't surprised in the slightest.
Toshinori sat bouncing his leg, feeling slightly nervous for Midoriya. Y/n rested a hand on his scrawny shoulder, "Hey don't worry," Toshinori looked at him seeing him smile, "I'm sure he'll do great!" Toshinori stopped for a moment then nodded, "You're right, he'll do fantastic!"
Midnight released them to the starting enterance. Hundreds of students waited for the word to start running, "Ready!" Midnight rose her arm up, the tiny whip in hand, "Set!!" A hush went over the crowd, the students hearts thumping in their ears, "GO!!"
The students ran as fast as their legs could carry them, although some used their quirks. A rumble shook the ground, and they looked up gasping. Robots, just like in the enterance exam.
"Where does the school get the funding for these?!" A feminine voice shouted. Suddenly they were turned to ice, Shoto Todoroki was now in the lead, skating ahead. The students all around somewhat applauded him because he stopped the robots, "Don't be a fool. I might have froze them, but that doesn't mean I'm letting you guys off the hook so easily..." He muttered before the robots started to crumble. The students jumped back, a few getting caught in it, and some taking the opportunity to go ahead, that person being Bakugou. He was exploding with anger.... Literally, "You bastard!!!!" He flew ahead catching up with Todoroki, "YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY THAT QUICKLY?!! YOU BETTER THINK AGAIN!!!"
In the corner Midoriya stopped, "What...?" Y/n muttered. Midoriya ripped off a piece of metal from the fallen robots, and started to run again. Y/n and Toshinori watched silently, leaning forward -Toshinori with his elbows on his knees, and Y/n as this went on, from the dangerous tiperope, to the mine field. His eyes landed on a particular student, Midoriya.
He started to dig into the ground, he scrunched his eyes in confusion, "What... Is he doing?" Once he was done digging, he took the metal plate off his back, and backed up a few steps before running up and jumping onto the pile of mines, a loud bang sounded out as he was launched up into the air, "WOOOOAH!! IS THAT MIDORIYA?! WHAT A STRATEGY!!!" Hizashi yelled enthusiastically. Midoriya tensed, kind of cheering him on in his head, 'Come on kid...' Midoriya almost hit the ground, Bakugou and Todoroki on the outer sides. Midoriya flipped over and slammed the metal on the ground once more, seeing one more mine. He let go and shot forward once more, he was in the lead. Toshinori smiled victoriously, "He's doing it...!" Midoriya tumbled into the lead before regaining his steps and actually running, his heart rate picked up, his breathing, erratic. Until a bright light hit his eyes, and he saw the crowd cheering, his face on the gigantic screen. Toshinori jumped up, "YES!!!" Y/n laughed happily, "He did it!! He really did it!!" He jumped up and celebrated with Toshinori, the other teachers not phased, knowing the two were quite fond of Midoriya, or at least they knew Toshinori was.
"MIDORIYA HAS CROSSED THE FINISH LINE!!!!" Hizashi yelled. The other students started to make their way into the arena, Bakugou looking as furious as ever, Todoroki looking mildly disappointed. A few students gathered around Midoriya, 'I think I've seen them hanging out with him before, must be some of his friends,' Toshinori and Y/n were done celebrating, Toshinori looked over at the clock, "Shit... Uh I got to go," he rubbed his neck, "I'm terribly sorry!" Y/n waved it off, "No worries, go ahead" he smiled. Toshinori waved running off, "Huh... I wonder where he's going.." he sat back down, and once everything settled, his curioucity was answered with a familiar laugh. He looked up seeing the silouette of All Might.
