The next day I showed up an hour early, like Emily asked me to. She lead me to a far back room that was very private.
“This is our VIP Room. Any special or important guests that need to be away from the public stay here, and this is where our guests today will be,” she explained. I nodded. “They’ll be here in half an hour, I want you to serve them, got it?”
“Got it,” I echoed. She smiled and we left the room. I continued my usually job for a half an hour until I was called to the front.
“Our special guests are here,” my co-worker told me. One Directon just walked into Nandos and everyone was staring. I looked behind me at the crowd of people distracted from their meals.
“Right this way,” I smiled as I motioned for them to follow me. They followed me all the way to the back and took their seats. “It’s a pleasure to have you here today. I’m Grace,” I said with my friendly voice.
“It’s a pleasure to be here Grace,” Harry replied, cheeky as ever. I smiled at him and told them I’d return to get their orders. I returned shortly after helping a different table when Zayn asked me,
“Are you new here? I don’t recognize you…” he trailed off.
“Yes actually I am, today is my second day on the job,” I replied. I took their drink orders and gave them a little bit more time to decide on their meals. I was getting drinks when I overheard a strange conversation.
“Niall why are you so red all of a sudden?” Zayn asked, bumping him with his elbow.
“Nothing…nothing,” Niall replied, obviously avoiding the question. I returned after that to drop of their drinks.
“Are we ready to order?” I asked them. They all nodded in agreement. One by one I took their orders and made small talk with each one of them. When it came to Niall’s order, he barely talked to me. I could barely hear his order as it is. He had to repeat it twice.
“Alright, I’ll be back with your food,” she said with a smile.
“Don’t be long! We’re hungry!” shouted Louis as I walked away.
It was a small room and all my work was being done in there so even when I was around near the kitchen I could still hear them.
“Niall, you think she’s pretty don’t you?!” Liam joked. Niall was silent for a moment before replying,
“She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” I blushed to myself. What a wonderful comment, but I wasn’t going to give it to him that easy. I decided that for the rest of the night I was gonna tease Niall. Make him stop being so shy. A while later I came out with their food. I put all of the boy’s plates down and asked them if they needed anything else.
“Niall needs something!” Harry teased. Niall blushed. I put my hand on his back and looked down at him.
“No, I’m fine,” he answered.
“Well okay, let me know if you boys need anything, especially you,” I said with a wink as I walked away.
“Ooh Niall, looks like the feeling’s mutual,” Zayn joked.
“She’s just being nice you guys,” he replied. Well I had to admit, he was very, very cute. And really attractive with his blue eyes and blonde hair and the way he blushed whenever I came out and his cute voice and he can sing really well and he’s just so….ugh. I needed to focus. I came back out halfway through the night to check on them. I made sure to always stand by Niall and nonchalantly leave my hand on his back or on his shoulder.
“Dude just leave your number on the bill or a napkin or something,” Zayn suggested.
“Alright, alright, I will,” Niall agreed. I smiled to myself and when it looked like they were about finished I came by and took their plates.
“Can I get you anything else?” I asked. They shook their heads no so I went to get the bill.
“I’ll take it,” Liam said as I came back. I went to check my other tables and came back to retrieve the bill. When I opened it, there was a napkin that read,
“You’re beautiful, and I was wondering if you’d call, me. –Niall” and he left his phone number below. I bit my lower lip and tucked the napkin into my back pocket. I wouldn’t call him tonight. Maybe not even tomorrow night. But soon.
