Mind of her own [Shikamaru Nara] {Sample/Test}

Prolog

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or the picture of the book cover. I only own Alice and everything her character involves.

A/N: This chapter is only a small test to see how this idea works out. If some will be reading this than maybe I will update more often, but at the moment this is just something I will do if I'm in the mood for it. So don't expect too much.

A strong wind carries itself over the small village of Ontario near the border of the Fire. The only village in the area and at least 2 days of travel between konoha.

One little girl resides in the yard of the compound and aimlessly stares into the sky above her.

-Clouds. This could be a dog or a fox.-

Alice is the only child in the village that can use Chakra. That's why a lot of people avoid her.

Alice has never met her biological parents instead she was adopted by Fuyo and Ren of the Fuego Clan.

The Fuego clan was once the most powerful clan in the way of fire ninjutsu that could rival the ninjutsu of the Uchihas. Both clans were famous for their strength and diversity of ninjutsu. Although the Fuego clan didn't have a Doujutsu like the Sharingan. They had a lot more Chakra capabilities than the Uchihas.

In the shadow of a big tree sat Alice looking st the clouds before she would have a training session with Fuyo. Even after the Third Ninja war the world was not at peace and therefore one has to be prepared.

Slowly Alice opens her shining eyes that almost have the color of gold. With a sigh Alice sits up and looks onto the image of a male.

There just outside the back door stands Fuyo with a smile on his face and his almost white hair in a ponytail. “Are you ready to train, Alice?” Fuyo who has a sparkle in his eyes looks at the moving form of the girl.

Alice wears a black undershirt with metal garnets on the arms, black shorts and Ninja sandals complete her training gear. Her chocolate brown hair kept in a ponytail and her bangs were kept with clips out of her face.

“Well, as ready as I can be Fuyo. Do we need to be careful so that Ren isn't disturbed in her slumber?” she said as she began to stand up.

The smile never leaving his face “You can go full out if you want to. Ren isn't at home for a while.”

That confuses Alice. - Normally Ren is always at home. Since she got this disease, she couldn't move anymore.-

“What do you mean by that? Where is she?” Alice narrows her eyes. -So it will finally be time for it?-

The smile vanishes from Fuyos face. - She always was quick to connect things. -

“It seems nothing can go past your mind, right?” He chuckles. “Well it just means I can drop it. Yes, Ren passed away just a little while ago.” His eyes sadden for a few seconds “but this was inevitable, we are both fairly old and Rens disease just gave her the finishing blow.”

Alice couldn't help but flinch a little. “I'm sorry for your loss. And I'm grateful that you two raised me to this point. I guess it will be our last time that we train, right?” You could hear the sadness in her voice. - Thanks Ren. Now rest in peace. -

Fuyo takes his stance. “I'm grateful to hear that. Ren could never have children so I glad that we took you in. It certainly made her happy.” He smiles at Alice. “Yes, this will be our final spar, do not hold back and use everything that you have learned.”

On the other side of the yard Alice takes her fighting stance. “I will always remember the both of you. Thank you for everything Fuyo-sensei.”

A strong wind soares through the small village of Ontario. Two people stand against each other but only one of them will be the winner.

Neither of them moves, both have a calculating look on their face.
Fuyo is the one who makes the first move.
In a speed almost to fast for the naked eye to see Fuyo weaves the signs for his ninjutsu.
"Fire Release: Great Combustion"
A flood of fire races towards Alice.
Quickly Alice counters with a jutsu of her own. "Earth Release: Earth Wall"
A 6 feet tall wall of mud stands protective in front of Alice.
The flames crash with the wall and in a matter of seconds the wall melds into nothingness but at the same time the flames extinguish.

Alice smiles at Fuyo. - He isn't even taking this seriously.-
Fuyo too has a smile on his face. - At least I could do it one more time. -

Alice races towards Fuyo, already weaving signs for another jutsu, a jutsu of the Fuego Clan.
-Thank you Sensei. Rest in peace and please say hello to Ren for me. -
"Fire Release: Sword of Agni"
A blazing blade manifests in Alice's both hands.
Fuyo looks at Alice, a tear running down his face. - I'm sorry Alice, that I'll burden you with this.-

A few moments later and you could hear the ripping of flesh and smell burned skin. A body drops to the ground, a smile on the face.

Alice stands above the body of Fuyo.
"Goodbye Sensei." her voice cracking up in the end and tears dropping onto the charred body of Fuyo.

A strong wind soares through the small village of Ontario. One lonely girl with a big heart and an even greater mind leaves the village gate of Ontario. A bag hangs over her shoulder.

With one last look at the small village the girl turns around and moves into the direction of Konoha.
This is were her story will begin and many hardships will follow.
With newfound determination and a goal in mind. Alice is just at the beginning, will she be able to make it to the end? Or will the challenges be to hard for her to complete?
It doesn't matter because she will proceed to the end.
Because Alice has a mind of her own.
