I'm going to make up a society so bear with me 

This society is a war based society so their warriors belive that the best way to die is in battle

Their military rankings 

grunts

phalenx

centurion 

colossus

vanguard 

siege drivers

plasmaters

The grunts have light armor but they have better armor by the :shoulders,elbows,knees,and groin.Their height is 6 ft to 7'6 ft .The choice of weapon for them are swords and hammers.They weigh between 220 lbs to 365 lbs

The phalenxes are bearley different from grunts that difference being that they have shields.Their height is the same as the grunts.Their choice of weapon are maces.They weigh between 238 lbs to 373 lbs

The centurions have medium armor and a plasma shield.Their height is 8'2 ft to 9'6 ft.Their choice of weapon is a long sword which the use with one hand.They weigh between 425 lbs to 620 lbs

The colossus have very heavy armor.Their height is between 10'5 ft to 15'8 ft.Their choice of weapon is a plasma warhammer which they use it two handed.They weigh between 960 lbs to 1360 lbs

The vanguard have heavy armor.Their height is between 7'6 ft to 7'10 ft.Their choice of weapon are maces.The weight is the same as the centurions.They are used for :defence,bodyguards,or front line units they also have small shields (These are the guys in the media)

The siege drivers are the scouts that look for week points in the infrastructure of the place they are about to take over.They have light armor.Their height is 5'8 to 6'5.Their choice of weapon is a dagger.They weigh between 180 lbs to 210 lbs

The plasmaters rarely see combat because they infuse the armor the military uses.They have no armor.Their height is varying.They shot plasma artillery.Their weight is varying 

Their cities are industrial.They also don't have a currency they barter or use their reputation. 

They are con sieved the way normal people are 

Their armor is black with a plasma in fused aura

They have space faring tech (Can be used as a reason they arrive in your fan fiction setting)

They don't have women warriors 

They also are trained to resist interrogation

They never retreat

They do show mercy if you surrender but if you attack again....you about to get OOFED
