We woke up to loud booms and flashes of light, it had just started to storm. I don't like when it storms and mama knows that I don't and she just holds me and tells me 'everything'll be ok soon, child' which calms me. But it's so dark because of the storm that I can't even see mama. Amara notices that I look un-easy and she asks if I'm ok

'I don't like storms, the noise scare me' I say while looking at my feet.

'The thunder used to scare me too. til' I realize that it's good when it rains. it make the crops and the plants grow.' Amara says.

'Really? it does?' I ask.

'Yes. What do you think makes em grow if it ain't rain?' Amara asks.

'Mama said god make em grow.' I say

'Well yes child, he do, but the rain mainly make em grow.' Amara laughs.

I look at my hands and feet, bloody and bruised from these shackles. It really hurts. I just wish I could move so I could be by mama. I close my eyes and prey... 'God, please don't let them hurt me or mama. Or anyone. please help us get out of this awful thing and go back home. Please help us survive this storm. Amen.'

All of the sudden, we stop. We are at our destination. Wherever and whatever it is. I hear the white men thumping above and yelling at each other. Then, the door that we came in from opens and the men come down. They start un-shackling people one by one and chaining them up to each other. They get to me and Amara and we are chained together along with 3 other people. After everyone is chained together, they start to yell at us in their language
