Another unfinished story, but one with only a single part. I like this plot line, so maybe someday I'll have the inspiration and motivation to complete it.
Much love!

Donnie sighed as gentle waves lapped against her boat. Her cloud gazing was slowly becoming less and less interesting. She considered reading another book. However, reading a book for the-- she glanced at a tally marked paper-- 142nd time didn't quite catch her interest. Perhaps she could sketch Sandy, the strange bird that she never was able to identify.
'Well, he wouldn't sit for long enough, anyway. As per usual, I suppose.' She thought. Donnie turned her head in response to a flapping she heard to her left.
"Why, speak of the dev--" She caught her words to the sight she saw. As expected, she saw Sandy, her bird, but she saw something else; something nearly foreign. What she beheld was another human, someone who appeared to be unconscious, and was caught in a raft of sea flora. The man wore a dark blue body suit that covered most of his body, and had a large backpack that was loosely hanging onto his slender frame. Luckily, the particular plant was in bloom, so it was highly buoyant. Donnie immediately dove into the water that surrounded her in an endless expanse and began to pull the person to her ship. Due to her lifetime spent studying, living on, and surviving the ocean, she had no trouble retrieving the man. As she pulled him and his backpack onto her sailboat, she noticed that he was heavily sunburnt and appeared malnourished. His ribs protruded from his torso in a way that told her he hadn't had any solid nutrition in a while. How he had survived this long, she had no idea. However, despite everything being against his favour, his heart beat on.
Within a few minutes of examining him, Donnie realized that he was likely rather dehydrated and it was quite probable that he was suffering from heatstroke. Without hesitation, she drew a cold bath for him and prepared fresh water for when he regained consciousness.
For about 4 days, she drained and refilled the small tub with cool water, making sure he didn't get too cold all the while, to help lessen the effects of his sun exposure and tried her best to keep him hydrated. On the fifth day, he sat up with a start. His eyes were wild, searching for a horror that wasn't there. Eyes still clouded over with terror, he screamed for someone. His startled, jade green eyes were filled with tears as he screamed once more.
"Ember!" He cried out. "Ember, where are you!" Donnie grabbed his hand as the man thrashed about in the bathtub. Slowly, he was able to blink away whatever horrid sights were held behind his gentle eyes. He took in the area around him, including Donnie, and was taken aback by everything. He hadn't expected to be in such a calm and gentle environment. He sobbed as the realisation hit him that his Ember wasn't there. He was quite certain that he was going to die, too. Here he was on a strange planet, in a strange building, with a strange person whose intentions he had no way of knowing.
"H-hey there, it's, um-- it's all right. You're going to be okay. I'm gonna take care of you. You'll be fine," Donnie tried her best to comfort the man in hysterics. His cheeks flushed as he realized what he was doing. Wiping at his eyes, he apologized for himself.
"I'm very sorry, I-I just-- I--" he was stuttering out an apology as he continued with trying to figure out what was happening. Donnie assured him that all was well, and that it was alright for him to feel upset.
