I believe this story fragment was the result of a particularly boring English class a few years ago. I hope you enjoy nonetheless ;)

Much love!

A girl clutched the right half of her face as she wobbled unsteadily through the forest. Thick, red liquid oozed between her fingers, slowly making her feel more and more woozy. The heavy, metallic smell of blood lingered in the arms of the hot summer air. She leaned against an elderly oak tree as she gathered her bearings. Rummaging through the contents of both her knapsack and her partner's, she was able to find a bandage, a cloth, a spoon, sanitizing wipes, a knife, a lighter, and her water bottle. She knew she would never be able to see out of her right eye again, and that if she left it, it would become infected; a much worse problem, no doubt. So, she decided to clean the spoon and scooped what was left of her eye out, hissing in pain as she severed her optic nerve. It made a sickening squelch as it hit the soft, mossy bed of the forest, but she continued. Her burning hands wrapped the bandage tightly around her head. She secured it with a tight knot and trudged on through the foliage.
