Lunch is honestly the best part of the day. Of course, the cafeteria is chaotic, but it's the only time of day everyone's together.

Lucinda and I had English beforehand so we walk to lunch together. We arrived at the circular table and took our usual seats across from each other.

I sat my lunch box on the table and leaned down to get my phone. As I sat back up, I noticed Lucinda staring in my direction.

I looked down at my shirt, then back up at her, "Is there something on my shirt?"

"Huh? Oh, no, that person's hair behind you reminded me of Katelyn..." She half smiled.

"Oh okay," I turned around, but the only people behind me had natural hair colors. It was then I realized...

I was wearing a v-neck- and when I leaned down draped lower. I turned back around to ask Lucinda but by then Katelyn had arrived. I sighed a little before adjusting my shirt.

She couldn't have been... Could she?

The lunch period continued as normal. Well, until one dreadful conversation.

"Guys! Our 4 year anniversary is coming up!" Katelyn squealed.

"Oh fun," I said with a fake smile, trying to sound as cheerful as humanly possible.

Aphmau and Teony said their congratulations and a weird silence fell across the table. We sat there for a couple of seconds until Katelyn finally said something.

"You know Melissa, just because you aren't in a relationship doesn't mean you get to be a bitch to everyone who is."

Just like that, everyone stopped what they're doing. All eyes on me. I looked her straight in the eyes. I felt tears begin to build up, so, I did the only thing I knew how to.

I grabbed my bag and left.

"Nice going," I heard Teony say followed by chairs moving around.

I didn't bother to look back and see what was happening. I didn't care anymore. She's always hated me.

At this point, I had no idea where I was walking, but I needed to get away from them.

10/6/17

It happened again.

I've lost count of how many times Katelyn has freaked out at me and Lucinda has done nothing about it.

Every time there's been a fight, every time we slightly disagree on something, every time, it always ends with Katelyn yelling at me. And every time, everyone just lets me get yelled it.

"It's fine"

"I can take it"

Which is a lie, but if I say anything otherwise, it will only get worse.

And it sucks, its always: "I'm sorry, you know she has anger issues," or "I just don't want her to be mad at me too, I love her..."

Because that's somehow an excuse...

I'm so done with no one caring about me.

I've been here for Lucinda since day one. And she can't even defend me in one fight.

It's moments like these that have me doubting why I even have a crush on her.

The rest of the day was absolute hell. That evening was even worse. I ran the scenario through my head hundreds of times.

Did I do the right thing?

Are they all going to hate me now?

Am I really a bitch?

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at my bedroom door. I wiped away a tear before saying, "Come in..."

"Hey," Lucinda approached.

"Hi..." I smiled a bit.

"I just want to apologize for Katelyn today..."

I sniffled a little, "It's fine, I knew she never liked me."

"Yeah, I don't know why though, what's there not to like?" She asked.

"A lot actually," I said with a slight giggle.

"No, stop, you're amazing," she said.

"Riiiight~" I rolled my eyes, "Your girlfriend seems to think otherwise."

She laughed a little, "I still don't get it, she just yelled, it was so- out of nowhere..."

"Yeah..."

"Oh, and Teony did run after you but she couldn't find where you went..." She sighed.

"It's probably for the better that way," I smiled a bit, "I was a whole mess and a half..."

She giggled.

God, I loved that giggle.

"Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to head back to my place and stay the night?"

"Yeah, sure," I smiled once again, "Give me a second to grab some things."

We eventually made our way over her house and up to her room. The pull out mattress from underneath her bed had already been set up facing the TV mounted on the wall.

Her room was cleaner than usual but I didn't bother to ask why. She had already sat down in her bay window in which you could perfectly see my room.

I remember, anytime one of us were in trouble and couldn't hang out, we would sit there and look across the backyards as we held up signs with messages. Back when everything was simple.

Soon enough, I snapped out of my daze and laid down on the mattress with my head at the end. Lucinda turned to me and asked, "So, whatcha wanna do?"

I shrugged in response. Being that there was no school the next day, we eventually settled on binge watching Grey's Anatomy for the fifth time.

Towards the end of season one, Lucinda moved from the bay window to her bed to my right. That same episode held one of her favorite moments from the entire show.

"Hi, I'm Addison Shepherd," The TV speakers pronounced.

"Shepherd?"

"And you must be the woman who's been screwing my husband?"

With that, she started cracking up. Probably the most laughing I've heard from her in a while.

I looked up towards her bed and giggled. "I think you need help..." I said in between laughs.

She looked down at me, "No, I- Ahhh!"

Before she could finish her sentence, she had fallen off the bed, and straight onto the pullout...

Goddamnit...
