This was one of the first short stories/fragments I had ever written. I think I might have written this after watching Treasure Planet, because I remember imagining them at a space port or something.
Much love!

"I want you to come with me." He said, holding out his hand. "Travel the world with me."
The young lady seemed nearly startled.
"Me? Are you.. Are you sure?" She shook her head. "I'm not interesting like you. I'm not a storyteller, or sophisticated, or intelligent or talented in any way. I'm surely not of use to you."
"Nonsense." His eyes gleamed. "I've never met anyone more worldly. And who cares about sophistication? I know I don't, and neither does anyone I employ. I must have you on my ship."
The girl's eyes welled up with tears and she soon began to sob. She fell to her knees.
"Th-thank you, thank you so much. I w-would be honoured to join your crew." She bowed her head to the ground. He pulled her from the floor.
"My dear, why are you crying so much? I'm not that big of a deal, you know." He frowned, clutching her hands, longing to understand.
"It's just that.... N-no one's ever said such nice things to me before. I'm so happy, I can't even express it properly." She beamed, but then looked to her feet. "I'm sorry to have caused such a scene."
"Once again, you speak of nonsense, miss." He raised her chin and chuckled. "You should have seen the blubbering mess I was when first invited to be a cabin boy!" He paused a moment, looking behind him. "If you want to come along, we should probably board the ship right away. I was supposed to set sail 5 minutes ago; the crew must be worried. Come now, let us introduce you."
