I've decided to start commenting on the Empire out of boredom. Boredom leads me to do strange things, so bear with me.
I know the Empire's supposed to be evil and all, but is it? In my view, if the Empire had a better emperor, the story would be more different. I see Star Wars like the ancient Roman Empire. They were a republic, then Julius Caesar came along and turned it into a dictatorship. Rome never was evil, just had bad rulers like Nero, Commodus, and Caligula. But the Star Wars Empire had good officers. In my view, Thrawn's one of the better officers in the Imperial military. Same with Colonel Yularen. It's a shame Yularen died and Thrawn couldn't stand against Disney's impenetrable plot armor.
But let's suppose there was no Sith ruling the Empire. I think it would be better off, and there would be no rebellion. But the rebels aren't exactly the 'good guys' just like the Imperials aren't the 'bad guys'. I mean, look at the destruction of the Death Star. It had around 1.7 million personnel aboard, all killed by Luke. Didn't he say something about how Jedi don't kill people? Maybe it's just me...
Is there anything else I missed?
