A young little girl played outside in her backyard as snow began to tread down. She held out her hands, palm to palm, to collect the snow and pretend it was little drops of ice cream pouring down from the sky. The smell of fresh snow made her lean in close to her hands until her sister threw a snowball at her which crashed into her hands.
"Hey!" she yelled at her sister.
   "You're such a weirdo, Caity."
"I guess that makes you one too, Crystal, since you're related to me."
Crystal threw another ball toward Caitlin and it landed in her face. Caitlin then grew angry and it changed her appearance. Her skin became pale as did her hair.
"What the hell?" Crystal panicked. "What are you? What have you done to my sister?"
Crystal then ran away except with the anger running through Caitlin she ran after her in which she accidentally, not knowing her abilities, froze Crystal into a statue of ice.
"What happened?" Caitlin whispered to herself as she leaned to see her sister frozen.
She ran inside, called out to her parents and they came out. When they asked what happened, Caitlin had no recollection of what happened. Her father took his daughter, Crystal, and placed her in his work's thermafrost chamber to see if he could revert her back into her natural form.

After many years later, Caitlin stood still in STAR Labs next to Cisco, who vibed her to this blocked out memory, as she broke down in tears. After she left the room, it took a long second for Cisco to remember that when they found Caitlin's father's lab, there was nothing in the thermafrost chamber.
It was the next day, when Caitlin returned to the team. As she talked about Crystal, she mentioned a funny thing.
"I don't even remember Crystal. My Mum never mentioned anything about her and there were no pictures of her in the house," Caitlin shared.
"Maybe they didn't want to be reminded of the pain," Ralph suggested.
"Yeah, but what parent just erases their own kid?" Cisco questioned.
"Maybe it's something I should ask my Dad," Caitlin thought.
"I think you should go to his lab and see if you can find any traces of Crystal, she may have been just like you Caitlin," Barry contributed.
"Yeah, what if after you were successful, he did someone else?" Ralph questioned.
"If we can't find your father, this may be the next best thing," Cisco suggested.
In a quick few seconds, Cisco and Caitlin went back to her father's lab in the Arctic to search for more clues on Caitlin's family.
