~Maya’s Point of View~

I woke up the next morning feeling better than I did last night. But I knew that I needed to keep moving to keep a fair distance away from Adrian’s mansion. I packed up all of my things and started to keep on moving. Listening to nature can be quite soothing, considering the situation I’m stuck in. My mind started wandering when I heard a voice that sounded more like a whisper

“Maya, please listen to me: Adrian is starting to assume that you are gone. It won’t be long till he starts to look for you. Heed my warning! RUN!” The familiar voice told me.

I knew it was Maria by the tone of her voice. If Adrian is starting to piece together that I’m gone, then it wouldn’t be long till he sends someone to find me. I looked at the sky. Dark clouds started to roll in and so had the thunder. Thunderstorm, I thought, all the more reason for meto speed up my pace and find shelter.  I speed up a little thinking that I would make good timing, until I heard something that sounded like barking. I did not want to stay and find out what it is. I started running. I was running like my, no, our lives depended on it.

I looked up at the sky to see how close the storm was. It’s about to hit, I thought. I need to find some type of shelter soon. But I am too tired to continue running for right now. I stopped running, and leaned against a nearby tree. I heard the thunder right above me. As soon as I looked up, I felt the rain drops hit my face. I never thought I would appreciate rain as much as I do right at this very moment. I felt rejuvenated and alive like nothing was wrong in the world. My happiness was soon crashed when I thought I heard voices and the sound of horse shoes hitting the ground. My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. Without any care in the world, I ran as fast as my feet could carry me; putting as much distance between me and then as I could. The soggy ground made it harder to run, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want him to find me, I didn’t want to be back in the situation again, and above all, I did not want to see him.

The rain started to hit harder and colder, but I didn’t care. It was the furthest thing from my mind at the moment.  All of a sudden, I felt a hard hitting pain in my stomach that caused me to stop and drop on my knees. I looked around, and everything was blurring and turning black. The last thing I saw was creepy shadows coming towards me. Then everything went black.

I apologize for not updating. I have been kind of busy getting college situated and stuff. But anyways, what do you think?? I’ll update sometime soon!!
