The Doctor
Location: A Small Village, Country Unknown
Time: Currently Unknown
20 Minutes After going into the VillageThe Doctor grabbed his cane, firing off a few shocks here and there. A feral creature made a running jump at him, only to be whacked upside the head with the cane. The Villagemen stood by, watching as the creatures made there ever so close advancement on him.
"You daff scabs, get off!" the Doctor said as another jumped on him. Realising that he should find a way to escape, he fired a volley of lightning into the creatures, and began running through the now open area past a wooden house.
One of the Villagemen, seemingly the leader of the party, started shouting in a strangled sort of commands. As the Doctor looked back, he saw the Villagemen give chase to him, as their Ferals we already subdued.
The Doctor Ran into the Forest, with the sounds of men yelling behind him, he couldn't stop for a moment of rest. As he ran, he attempted to break his line to change things up for them, hoping that they will stay in their line they have been following since his run had started. He, mischanging footing, fell and dropped his cane, effectively spraining his ankle and loosing his Cane in the dark morning. As he started, he remembered to speak a quick Cleanse, reliving any object of Divine Enchantments of the area so the cane couldn't fall into the wrong hands.Limping through the forest, he thought quietly to himself. He knew what he had been walking into (to some extent), knowing that he could have lost his life or could have taken one just as easily. He had hoped, however, that he could learn more than he had already knew, which was very limited. As he dropped his Cane, he now only had his hands and his leather bag, all he truly needed.
A noise made a chill go up his spine, he heard heavy breathing from behind him, silently moving. The Doctor held his pace, attempting to find the best way to deal with the breathing from behind him. Suddenly spinning around with the intent of using his hands to deal with it, found that there was nothing there. But the breathing remained all around him.
"What is that god awful noise..." the Doctor said to no one in particular, perhaps more to himself than the forest. He sat down for the morning, knowing it was not safe, but a tired mind is better than a dead one.He awoke to daylight, covered only by the trees. He thought about how much his life took a turn for, as he sat in that cell for what seemed like years, but he couldn't tell as there was no cycle in there. He thought of his escape, and then of Clementine. He Jumped up in surprise, only for his ankle to remind him of his place. After wincing, he attempted to dig through his Doctor's Bag for the map and compass, only to find it gone. Recalling his brief time at the village, he accepted the fact that it could have been lost during first contact, or when he ran through the woods only hours ago.
" Where to go...where to go..." he said to himself, wondering where he should start his journey. He knew if he went the way he came from, he would either run into the party chasing him or the hostile village, both of which he would like to avoid. He decided that he should forget about her, although she was his best (and most successful) cured patient, he would need to complete his journey alone, in hopes to cure more without her weighing him down.
Turning away from the path that led back to the village, he smiled. Maybe mistakes were easier to make than he thought. He approached a river, short enough to walk through without having to worry about getting wet, but deep enough where animals could drink water. He walked over it, using a few of his empty vials to store water. After he was done with filling his final Vial of water, the breathing began again. He looked around him, looking for anything in the bright afternoon. Finding nothing, he took his Bag and walked alongside the river, where he saw a flick in the corner of his eye. He new he didn't imagine it, and stored the flick in his mind. "Disturbing..." He remained on his path, suddenly turning again, seeing another flick. The Flick seemed to be what was making the breathing, and, although he was fast, it seemed it was a some sort of creature, a fast one, at that.
The Breathing stopped after walking aside the river, along with the flickering, or as he named the creature, Flick. " Just when it was getting fun too... to bad." the Doctor said, thinking it was witty. The Doctor saw animals alongside the river, some looked like the ones from before the Plague, others were strangers to the Doctor's eyes. Some were covered in scales, with a quick jaw. Others were lightly furred, having a more traditional jaw. But there were a few that resembled a mix between Monkeys and humans, or at least, taller and more intelligent Monkeys. They used primitive tools, such as clay cups and makeshift weapons. The Monkeys were few in numbers, leading the Doctor to believe they were not settled there, but only gathering water, with an armed escort. Once they left, the Doctor resumed his walk on the river until a faint sound was heard, which would not have made him dodge on instinct if it were not for his observation to the Creatures he was looking at. An arrow found its way in the tree next to him, surprising him a little. He threw himself behind a tree, thinking of his next move. To the Doctor, they now seem a little hostile. He decided the best approach was to attempt to communicate with them (from afar, of course) and defuse the skirmish that has formed. " I mean you no harm! I am a Doctor of the Plague, not a bandit!" while the Doctor thought he did well, he only earned another swift arrow flying loosely into woods.
Grabbing a nearby rock, he tossed it to the Left of the tree while he ran right of the tree, earning him a safe passage to a fallen tree. He looked at the other side of the river, looking for any attacker. Spending a few seconds looking, he decided he might as well follow them, and scout out where they came from.
As he crossed the river, he came across one of their Clay Cups. The Doctor then realized they must have noticed him during their stay, as they left leaving some of their supplies. He grabbed the cup, looking at the cup the shape and its rough edges. The Cup resembled more of a Coffee Mug, just without the grip. The Clay Cup was hardened, leading the Doctor to also Believe that they know how to create fire, as the Doctor noticed that the weather of the forest doesn't involve raining Magma or Lava. The cup had fingerprints from the forming of the cup, with the only abnormal effects seem to be on purpose. Placing the cup in his bag, he began walking through the forest, in search for the Hostile Monkeys.
Main Author's Note(s):
This chapter acts as an introductory to the Doctor's seperate story from Clementine. I plan on them meeting at the end (either on Good means or Bad...), but as always, I will try to accommodate to the wishes of the Reader(s). I know that the chapter was different, due to him not speaking as much and how everything seemed weird, but I will try to go back to his old self.
The Chapter Is short due to it acting as a Pilot to the new way the story is shaping, and I hope that you agree with my actions. Anywho, that's the end of the authors note, and as always, see you on the next new addition. - Johnson-----Random Author Notes of the Chapter-----
(Also, did you notice the new SCP I added? Doesn't make sense as to why its there, I know, but this is a fan fic, not a well thought out story, silly Buckaroos)
(I guess the Doctor is a god or some sort of mythical person? It's probably easier to explain that than a guy that can kill anyone on contact i guess...)
(The Monkeys might become an interesting part of the story, or I might make it a short part of the next chapter, IDK yet.)
( RANC might become something I make on all of the Chapters after this, just so the audience to know whats going through my mind while making these chapters lol)
