2:03 amI rise slowly out of unconsciousness to the sound of a low hum in my ear. I open my left eye a crack to see that I'm in bed, but there's something pressed against my back, more like someone-
I freeze mid-breath. I just slept for what must have been four hours with Damien curled against me.
He continues humming, and I start to recognize the song. It's the one he wrote for me. I start to hum along, my voice an octave higher than his.
He must have noticed because he stops humming. "Oh, hey princess," he murmurs. "Did you have a nice sleep?"
"I-" I don't know what to say. I did sleep well, better than I have in a little while, but I don't want to tell him that. "Yeah, I did."
He yawns. "That's good. Do you want to stay like this or do you want me to go underneath?"
I find his hand under my pillow and hold it. "We can stay like this for a while, if that's okay with you."
He kisses the top of my head and whispers, "Alright. Sleep well, princess."
"You too..." I hesitate, before saying, "my prince."
I feel him tense beside me, only to feel the rumble of his laughter at my back. "You're three days early, Blake."
I shrug. "Let's just go back to sleep. I'm still tired."
"Alright. Goodnight, princess."
"Goodnight, Damien."
