I ran my hands down the sides of my body as I twisted back and forth in the mirror. The red dress hugged my hips tightly, accentuating the curves of my frame. I ran my fingers through my hair, twirling it to make the girls fuller.

"You almost ready, babe?" I heard my husband, Liam, call from down the hall.

"Yeah, just a second." I shouted back. I leaned forward and ran my fingers around the edges of my lips cleaning up the lipstick. I straightened up and grabbed my small black clutch off the vanity before spraying myself with some perfume.

My heels clicked against the marble floors of the house as I made my way into the lounge where I'm sure Liam was waiting. He was stood by the bar sipping on a glass of scotch when I walked in the room. "You look as beautiful as ever." He grinned, his eyes squinting as I waltzed toward him. "My beautiful wife." He grabbed my hips and pulled me into him, planting a kiss on my reddened lips.

"You look quite handsome yourself." I smiled, leaning back to look at his face. I remember his face as a sharp, youthful 21 year old. I'd met him as he was going through law school. We were friends with the same group of people at uni. He went off to another school after undergrad and I didn't see him until nearly 3 years later.

He was successful and absolutely dominating his new career as a lawyer and I couldn't have found him more attractive. We went for drinks when I'd heard he was back in town and immediately clicked. Six months later we were engaged and planning my dream wedding. He never hesitated when treating me well. I was always completely pampered and given what I wanted and I loved him for his kindness and generosity.

"Let's head out, the car should be out front." He mumbled, pulling away and finishing his drink. He helped me put my long fur coat on before heading out the front door and putting on the security system.

I never thought I'd ever live in a house like that. Six bedroom, 5 bathrooms with a lounge and bar. A massive kitchen and an even nicer backyard. I was living like an absolute princess and all I had to do was love him and look fit. Neither were hard.

When we were sat in the car Liam was talking about the dinner tonight but I just couldn't wait to have a martini in my hand. I didn't mind going to these dinners but they were quite boring. Just a bunch of rich lawyers talking about things I had not a clue about while I had to make small talk with their trophy wives about new kitchen appliances and clothes they've bought.

Everyone was very fake. Always trying to flash the nicest things and flaunt their wealth and success but I guess I'd be a hypocrite if I said Liam and I didn't do the same. It was just apart of fitting in.

"At tonight's dinner we'll introduce the new partner as well. Love this lad. I had my interview with him last week and he's quick as a whip and I think he'll be great for the practice. He has a great success rate on cases and he's an extremely intelligent lad." My mind wandered as Liam talked about the new partner. Some new rich guy whose wife I'll have to make awkward forced small talk with.

"Can't wait to meet him, love." I smiled, leaning over and grabbing Liam's hand. I loved Liam to pieces, especially how well he takes care of me. "You know what Friday is, right?" I smirked, trying to draw his attention away from his phone.

"Hm?" He hummed, sending a reply email to someone I'm sure he'll see in a few minutes. I felt myself grow a little annoyed as he sat on his phone instead of paying attention to me. That was one downside. In order to live this lifestyle it means that Liam pretty much words 24/7 which leaves little to no time for me.

"It's our 5 year wedding anniversary." I nudged him, trying to get him to put his phone away. I didn't like to tell him to put his phone away because I didn't want to seem needy but sometimes it'd be nice to get some attention.
