Chapter 6: The same as me

It did not go on for very long me and Emily cleared out the alleyway of the building Kyle showed us, there were only about 7 of them walking around just wondering in and around the alleyway. I got 5 and Emily finished the other two, it had not been a long time since the world has gone to hell but should I really be enjoying getting up in the morning to cave in people’s heads. Was this what the smoke has done to me or just me as a person…?

“So what is the plan? Kyle spoke as soon as he saw my head pop up at the window as I climbed up the ladder.

“Um we should sit around and decide together so everyone knows” I replied. Abby creped forward and put her hand up

“Uhhhh… Well… my dad owns a bookstore down the road… can we go there please?”

“Yeah that is properly the best idea we should check if are families are ok” I said to Abby

“Why should we they’re probably all gone and it could be really dangerous we should find some place to wait till the army comes” Kyle yelled

“The army won’t come for you idiot they have bigger problems and more people to save then us we have to help ourselves!” Katy shouted back to Kyle.

“Um my mum is a police lady and is in the illegal arms department so she deals with guns all the time she has been in lots of raids and has even been shot at and killed people before we also own some of our own guns if that helps?” Abby tried to speaking quietly in the shouting conversation.

“We won’t go just because your family has guns but we do want to check it out to help you, ok we will head there next.” So the plan is to head to the bookstore. So that is what we did. As soon as everyone heard what I said they stood up we started collecting the remainder of the food that was in the shelves we also packed up a string bag of food like the peanut butter and crisps filling empty pots with water. And everyone suited up and grabbed their weapons in hand. In 5 minutes time we had gathered everything and started making our way out of the building, leaving it behind. We started to make our way towards the main road. There was not that many of them around as soon as we stepped into the line of sight people started shouting and gun shoots went off. We turned around and looked up the main road and there was 4 people hid behind cars and started taking pot shots at us as we walked pass.

“Get them its looks like they got stuff” A man yelled out. He had a neckerchief over his mouth and a baseball hat on holding a hand gun. His friends all carried guns from double barrel shotguns to a single shot rife.

“Run!” I yelled. It took only a second and everyone listened and tried to make it across the main road but they fired in front of us. We had to take cover in front of some cars me and Kyle was behind a blue mini as we see a window of the car getting shot though smashing and glass going everywhere. Emily and Katy are hidden behind a turned over van. I suddenly worried I could not see Abby with them!

I pushed my head up to see if her body was on the floor as I see the man with a shoot gun run towards me in a black hoodie and jeans then, he screamed and fell to floor letting off a shot in the air. I looked to my left and Abby was behind a car as well with arms on the bonnet the 32 revolver in hand she was the one that just shot that guy in the chest. “Yes!” She yelled and started to hide and take pot shots at the other shooters. This was the first time I have ever seen her talk as loud as normal people not in a hushed tone. But When I looked again a zombie was walking up behind her.

“Watch out” yelled Emily as she slid in behind the zombie knocking it to the ground as soon as it fell Emily jumped up to one knee and caved in the zombies head with her wooden sword. It was not over yet two started to come up towards Katy I tried to make a dash but gun fire at my feet pushed me back behind the car. Katy hit one of them pushing it to the left a bit finishing it by smashing down on its head with the metal pipe. The second zombie grabbed her, its mouth over her arm…
