I Do

Holy shit, I was so nervous, my hands shook as I watched my reflection in the mirror. Today was finally the day, I was going to become a Sykes, no more Fuentes, just Sykes.

"Y/N, are you ready yet? Everyone is sitting waiting," Jace said walking into the room dressed up in the maid of honour dress and makeup we chose together. Her dress was a beautiful warm burgundy, with a tight-fitting top half, and a long flowing skirt that reaches her ankles, with a matching flower crown perched on the top of her head, the bride's maids which are Kat, Mally and Lucy, one of Oli's friends, they wore similar dresses, but they reach to the top of their knees and were poofier.

"As ready as I'll ever be I guess," I turned to face Jace and smiled as Mike walked in, he's in a black suit with a red with black polka-dot bow tie, only because he lost a wager with Tony and Nicholls, the wager being who could chug the most beer in twenty seconds, so in the end, Mike has to wear the bow tie and Nicholls has to wear a bright yellow flower crown.

"Hey baby taco," Mike said hugging me, "you look so beautiful." He kissed the top of my head and turned me around so we're both facing the full-body mirror, my dress twisted elegantly with me, I hadn't put on my veil yet but Jace held it in her hands ready to help me put it on.

"Sykes is a really lucky man," Mike said rubbing my shoulders.

"I feel like I'm the luckier one here," I replied.

Mike and Jace both chuckled.

"You think that" Jace said, she walked over and I faced her as she gently clipped the veil in my hair and hung it over my face and took a few photos before Mike took my arm and the three of us walked out of the room, I took a few deep breaths as we neared the doors of the main church.

Everyone else who was walking down the aisle with us was waiting patiently.

"Ready?" Kat asked, I nodded my head, she smiled as the doors opened and music started playing, Oli and I decided not to make this a completely traditional wedding, the song playing we decided on is an acoustic version of You and I by Anarbor. My eyes prickle a tiny bit as everyone stood and Oli turned to look, our eyes connected and his jaw dropped, I smiled a toothy grin and Mike and I started walking down through the rows of pews, everyone's eyes were on me, I said a tiny prayer to whoever was listening to not let me trip or make a fool of myself.

Soon enough, Mike handed me over to Oli who held my hands tightly, my knees feeling weak under his gaze but I managed to stay strong, once the music went quiet and everyone was seated, the pastor cleared his throat.

"We gather here today to hold witness as two souls come together to become one," he read, Oli and I hadn't broken eye contact, every now and then a camera flashed as people took photos of us.

'I love you' I mouthed to Oli, he smiled and silently said 'I love you too' in return.

"Now, Mr Sykes, repeat after me," the priest instructed, Oli quickly glanced to the priest and nodded before looking back at me. "I, Oliver Scott Sykes, take you Y/N Y/M/N Fuentes, to be my lawfully wedded wife." The priest said Oli copied him carefully.

"To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." Oli copied him once more.

"Now place the ring on her hand and repeat after me... with this ring, I promise to stand with you as we share this life, and cherish the memories we make together." Oli gently picked up the ring from the small cushion that Elliot, Jordan's son, was holding with the help from his dad.

"With this ring, I promise to stand with you as we share this life, and cherish the memories we make together," Oli softly said as he slid the shining gold ring onto my finger, tears threatened to spill from my eyes, my cheeks started to slightly throb because of how much I was smiling.

The Pastor smiled before turning to me.

"Now, I, Y/N Y/M/N Fuentes, to you Oliver Scott Sykes, to be my lawfully wedded husband," The pastor said, I copied with a shaky voice.

"To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." I once again copied, my voice was still shaky with anticipation.

"Now place the ring on his hand and repeat after me.... with this ring, I promise to stand with you as we share this life and cherish the memories we make together," now it was my turn to take Oli's ring from the cushion as Elliot smiled up at me, I smiled back and started to repeat the pastor.

"With this ring, I promise to stand with you as we share this life and cherish the memories we make together," I placed the ring on his finger, relieved that I didn't mess up.

"Oliver and Y/N, prior to this moment you each walked a separate path. Now, you embark together on a shared path. Yet the journey is not yours alone, for you have already been blessed with beautiful children. It is the strength of your love that shall nourish you all together as a family." The pastor began in a strong voice for everyone to hear.

"Oliver and Y/N, today you have stood before these witnesses and declared your intent to commit your lives to each other in marriage. You have made promises to each other and your family. Your road to this moment has not always been smooth, but you continued to fight for one another. I hope you will never forget the fight and perseverance it has taken to get to this moment. And I hope you will never forget the love and joy you feel today because these are the values that will keep your marriage, family and bond to one another strong." Oli and I haven't looked away from each other the whole time the pastor spoke.

"And so, by the power vested in me by God himself, I now pronounce you husband and wife," The pastor looked at Oli. "Oliver, you may kiss your bride."

We both looked at each other again as Oli wrapped his arms around me, dipped me back and kissed me with the most passionate kiss I have ever felt, I never thought I could fall in love more, but there I was, surrounded by loud cheers, whistles and applause, I fell in love with my new husband all over again.
