That night we sat down for dinner and all it was was silence. Until my aunt broke it, "so are you kiddos.. dating?"
I pushed my chair back and it made a loud noise. Then I stomped up stairs. Once I got upstairs I slammed my door closed and listened to what my aunt and Coda were talking about. I heard muffled voices most of the time but then I heard, "I want her to be my girlfriend." Once I heard that I teared apart Coda's makeshift bed and shoved my face in my pillow and fell asleep.

When I wake up,
I see that Coda re made his bed yet he is not sleeping in it.
I put my hair in a bun, and walk downstairs. As I'm walking, I notice that Coda and my Aunt are already eating breakfast.
"She's ALIVE!!" My aunt says as I approach the last step. I rub my eyes, yawn, and walk over to the table to sit next to Coda. We all eat in silence until my aunt finishes she's her food and breaks the silence and says "I'm gonna go and leave you two alone for a little while". Right as she walks away, I see her make a kissy face at me and I roll my eyes. I finish my breakfast right after Coda. I put my dishes in the sink. " Can we take a walk?" I ask him. "Sure! He says with a smile. We both go up to my room and put on Our shoes and they I go tell my aunt that we are leaving. When we walk out of the house, I try to start up conversation. "So." I say."How's life?" I say. "Not very good, on account of my mom..."
He says with a flash of pain on his face. He can't say the last word.
And a tear slips out from his eye. We stop for a second and I hug him. And then we walk the rest of the way in silence. 10 minutes later, We reach a dead end and turn around. Coda stops crying."I'm sorry." He says. "For what?" I say. " For crying all the time." He says with an embarrassed look across his face. "Don't be sorry." I say." It's okay to cry. Cry all you want." I want to ask him about last night but it doesn't come out. We arrive at my house and I decide that I'm going to go to the hospital to check on my mom. I tell my aunt and coda and as I'm about to leave, I see them making the guest room into a room for Coda. I smile. I'm glad they get along.

When i get to the hospital, I don't see anyone walking in and out of her room. I glance over at the receptionist and she glances back at me, and her eyes widen. I walk over to my moms room and open door. When I walk in, I find an empty room. I look at the foot of the bed and my moms name isn't there but instead it says; Margot Quinn.
I rush over to the receptionist and say " Where is my mom?!" In a stern voice.
The receptionist takes something out of her drawer and puts it in her pocket. " Where is she?" I repeat. " I'm not sure." The receptionist says. "What's in your hand?" I ask. She slowly opens it up. There is a key. I quickly snatch the key and find the only room with a lock. I quickly unlock the door and find a bunch of doctors unplugging stuff from different machines. They haven't noticed me yet. They probably thought I was another doctor walking in.There is a crowd of about five or six doctors huddled around a bed. One of them notices me and I quickly break through the crowd of doctors. And laying on the bed
Is my moms lifeless body.
