• Rosemary's P.O.V. •
Emma and I spent most of the day in the library, trying to figure out more about my peculiarity. We managed, with the help of Horace, to find a book on mind readers, which had a chapter about peculiars like me.
We were reading the book when Emma finally said, "Rosemary, I don't think you're an empathetic. Much of this information doesn't apply to you, I mean, you can't read minds, but you can see memories." She looked puzzled. "What if you've been wrong the whole time, and this entire time we've been looking in all the wrong places?" She finally said.
"It's possible," I said, slightly embarrassed. "Maybe Miss Plover was wrong about me, and just gave me a name for my peculiarity, because she herself couldn't wrap her head around it..."
"Rosemary, if a peculiarity like yours has never been documented before, that's incredible! Think about it! You're the first and only peculiar to have this ability!" She exclaimed.
When I thought about it, I, too, was excited. It seemed like such an honor to be so unique.
"We must tell Miss Peregrine immediately!" She exclaimed, grabbing the book from my hands. We raced down the hallway to Miss Peregrine's office and knocked on the door.
We heard her say, "Come in," and we did as ordered, giddy to share the news.

• Enoch's P.O.V. •
The plan was simple. I left a note on Emma's desk for her to come to my room after curfew, she would help me with my gift for Rosemary, using her peculiarity.
At precisely 10 p.m., she joined me in my room, and I explained everything. She seemed to like the idea, even though she too believed that giving gifts wouldn't make up for what I had said.
I reiterated that the gift wouldn't be buying her trust and that it was merely something to make her smile.
After that, we got to work.
I had bought some sterling silver, for Emma to meltdown, and for me to then mold. I bought molds to make a small chain for a necklace.
Emma melted down the silver, and as she did, she spoke, "So what did you do that made her so mad at you, Enoch?" She asked.
"I um, I got jealous, and I might have called her a liar, and I was a total arse for doing so," I mumbled, preparing the molds.
Emma gave me a stern look, "I told you that you should have listened to her," she said, shaking her head.
"Anyway, what are you going to say when you give her the necklace?" She interrogated further.
"I'm not really sure yet," I admitted. "I'm not really one that is great with words," I mumbled.
"Oh well, I'm sure you'll do just fine. What you're doing is very sweet," she said, grinning from ear to ear.
I felt my cheeks get hot. "Let's just finish this, okay?" I stated, and so we did.
When the chain was finally finished, Emma looked at me, "so what's going to go on the chain?" She asked.
"This," I said, pulling a small crystal rose out of the box from the jewelers. It was a three-dimensional rosebud shaped crystal, that when held up to the light, glittered like a thousand stars.
Emma's jaw fell open, "Woah," she said. "That's beautiful," she stated, taking the small crystal pendant in her fingertips. She turned it over in her fingers, looking it over. It wasn't any bigger than a small pebble.
"You got this for Rosemary?" She asked, slightly surprised.
I nodded my head, "I saw it when I took Claire to town a few weeks ago, and I remembered it one day while talking to Rosemary," I stated.
"I think she's really going to like this," she said, slipping the small pendant onto the chain. "Good job, Enoch, I think you've outdone yourself," she stated with a smile.
She looked at me with a puzzled expression as if making a realization, "Enoch, you don't happen to fancy Rosemary, do you?" She asked teasingly.
I could feel my cheeks getting redder by the second.
"You do!" She exclaimed.
"Shut up!" I hissed. "Do you want everyone in the house to hear you?!" I growled.
"If you don't tell Rosemary, I will," she said, laughing.
I rolled my eyes as I put the small necklace into the tiny box the pendant had come in. Emma soon left, promising to talk to Rosemary for me tomorrow, about forgiving me.
And with that, I went to bed, unsure of what would come tomorrow. Uncertain of what the future had in store for me. And unsure of whether I was to be forgiven.
(Hello all! I'm so sorry I haven't been posting recently, I came down with a cold, and I didn't feel well enough to write. I also have just gotten off of winter vacation, so I plan to post once every other day and sometimes every day if I have time. I'm also sorry for how short this chapter was, I've been a little busy, but fear not! The next chapter will go back to the regular length! So until then, leave a vote and stay tuned for chapter 10, where we find out how Rosemary receives the necklace! XOXO IlliterateIguana)
