Sonya wrapped her grey plaid scarf around her neck, the soft fabric almost comforting her. Footsteps shuffled around her house. She knew they were coming. Them. The girl looked to the other side of the house, where the intruder stood. Her younger sister clinging to her waist. As she looked outside, she wrapped another scarf around her sister, Ella. Ella had fluffy and dirty blond hair that would keep her warm, and Sonya was thankful for that. She slipped on some worn down fingerless gloves, them being the only gloves that fit her abnormally large hands.
Looking back again, she saw that the intruder had gotten considerably closer. Sonya grabbed her pistol out of her pocket, where she always had it. The girl aimed it at the person's leg, not wanting to kill them. A loud bang rang throughout the air as Sonya pulled the trigger. Red blood spilled from the intruder's leg, spreading over the worn wooden floor like water on tile. Slipping the pistol back into her pocket, she looked around to see if any others were inside of the house. Luckily, the rest were outside, all with Graspers in hand. She knew the Grasper wouldn't hurt them, only stun them. But, in the long run, it was honestly worse. The C.C.C.C. was originally made to protect kids 18 and under from the sudden cold and the Inisica disease, but of course, they got greedy. Sonya held up her pistol and opened the creaky wooden door, quickly, but sneakily. Looking around, she saw that there were about 4 or 5 more abductors, less than she expected.
She ran to their pick up truck, holding Ella's hand. Ella was almost being dragged against the cold ice since she was so small, but she kept up. The sisters reached their car, old and somewhat rusty, but still reliable. Sonya picked up her sister and put her in the front seat, and ran around the truck to hop in the driver's seat. Sliding into the seat, she realized that she had left the keys in the key tray, back in the house. She cursed, holding the pistol with two hands she turned to run back into the house.
Unfortunately, two abductors stood in her way. Pulling the trigger twice, she shot each of them in the leg, still not wanting to kill them. They wailed in pain and fresh blood spilled over the fresh snow, staining it red. Sonya ran to the house, and grabbed her keys, not bothering to close the door behind her. She ran outside, cold air slapping her face. Since she was only paying attention to saving Ella, Sonya tripped on a tree stump hidden beneath the snow. Turning around, she saw a navy blue masked abductor was right on top of her. She punched the person, but to no avail. Hoping it was a man, Sonya swung her leg upwards, kicking their crotch. The man cried out and cursed. He held her wrists down, making the gun no use to Sonya. She closed her eyes and slid the car keys across the icy ground of the sidewalk in the direction of the truck. She hoped with all her being the keys were close, as she wasn't able to see the pick up since it was behind her. Not hearing the keys sliding across the ice anymore, she knew they had stopped somewhere.
"Get the keys and go!" she yelled at Ella. Sonya could hear the jingling of the keys, and knew Ella had picked them up. Hoping her sister wouldn't stay behind and help, Sonya struggled underneath the man's grasp. Another abductor came at her with a large black drawstring bag in her hand. Sonya yelled and cursed at the man on top of her, even tried flailing her arms, but he was too strong for her. Eventually, she gave up fighting, hoping that at least Ella could get away. As if on queue, she heard the screeching of old tires against the asphalt of the road. Letting out a sigh of relief for Ella, Sonya let the abductor slip the dark bag over her head. The drawstring was pulled tight, and her hands tied behind her back, and darkness consumed her sight and thoughts.
