All had seemed to fall apart, yet Sinthia sat in her golden throne unamused. The golden accents silhouetting the young girls darken dress. Hints of silver threading mixing with the violate plum silks. She had grown up with a silver spoon in her mouth, for everything was done for her. All 17 years of her existence reflected this until one person changed her fate on a dime. Sinthia changed after the burning, that's what her subjects called it. Her parents and the next of kin had been targeted during an outing. Murdered in cold blood, but the culprit was never found. So their she sit angry and unforgiving. The stained glass creating pools of colorful light right before her feet. The muddled mess of colors a memory she'd much rather forget. The last images of her family she will ever see, at least until death. Would she even want to see them at that point, probably not. It was her parents that had left her to rule the kingdom alone. No training received. That was the same moment all eyes were on her, coronation day being crowned for the first time. She was impressionable, young and naive. That was the impression after all. They all cried for the royal family then, and smile for their queen now. Only in front of her. The smiles filled with alternative means. It was to continue this sunny morning, and like clockwork, a young gentleman had ventured into her home and appeared in the pools of light.
It was a cold silence nothing breaking the young queen's unwavering glare until he had finally spoken. "Your Highness the carriage is ready for your departure," the male stood strong as he finally announced what was needed to be said.
She slowly rose from her throne only to extend her arms out lazily. A few chambermaids came running with a luxurious pale blue coat, fur inside to keep her warm. She had no interest in leaving home, even if it were for her people. Not that it mattered much either way.
"What's the reason this time?" Her voice was soft and painful sounding.
"Your father had this meeting set up far before their passing."
A sickening sweet smile spread across his face as he held out a hand. Taking it and steeping down the stairs, she could only describe his had as freezing and far to boney. He couldn't be getting the proper amounts of anything. Shrugging it off the queen followed him to her carriage. With some help in she was secured and on her way to the kingdoms of the south. All to satisfy her fathers living wishes.
Time moved along slowly. The wintery wonderland slowly transitioned to winter woods and green grass. Her telling sign she was getting close. Prospering farmlands of golden grain came into view. Her dull gray eyes lit up in excitement at this change of pace. Everything was so lively, unlike home. Maybe this wasn't going to be a bad thing. In satisfaction, she sat back a bright soft smile twitching into place. All was well was as the inner castle walls were all she could see. Like Magic, her carriage came to a stop and released her from the confines. She stood tall and strong waiting to be greeted. Once greeted she was taken inside to discuss matters. It had everything to do with the almost eternal winter in her home. Both kingdoms had something to gain, they our precious medicinal berries that grew native, and us the supply of food we always needed. We'd come to an agreement under good terms, however; that's when a mysterious figure caught her eye. She watched closely as the figures sicken devious smile grew wider at her attention. She recognized it but she didn't nowhere from. The red glow from the darken figure sent her into a get out, get out now mode. She needed to leave. That's what she did, stood up, expressed her gratitude and headed down the winding stairs. As she descended down the stairs a large crackle could be heard and BOOM. She couldn't even process what happened as she was sent running down the stairs, small BOOMs going off shortly after. In a panicked attempt to escape she looked for her carriage. Not in sight, she was reliving that fateful day. How could she not, that person had left one after all.
Sinthia was running down the streets in an attempt to escape, the BOOMs only followed her as she moved. It didn't take long for the guards to follow after her. She looked crazed and screaming came shortly after her appearance. They had apprehended her in no time. She'd made it to a carriage, one that would lock her away, however.
She sat rotting away in that cell for days, no one would listen to her crazed ramblings. The prince faced the women in discusses before announcing her punishment. She'd be decapitated.
So came the fateful day, she stood on that reality stage standing tall. She knew it wasn't her, it couldn't. She had experienced the same fate so many years ago. They didn't care, someone needed to fall for the crimes. As she waits for the blade to fall the figure caught her eyes once again. She screeched at them to look. She'd found him again, nobody listened. The piercing sound of the blade rushing through the air and the crowd's screams of joy solidified her fate. It was to end. Not even seconds later her head was rolled over the stage. Lifted for all to see, a crown placed atop her head as she was the rightful queen of death.
