"Okay girls, I have to go to work, i'm so sorry that I couldn't find anyone to take care of you." My mother started, the old dark floors creaking with every step she took."

"I-it's okay, really." My sister Skylar said firmly as she pushed her short, blue hair away from her face.

As we watched her leave, I looked into her eyes for a split second. I thought I saw red in her eyes. It was the most terrible feeling I have ever felt. I looked back up at the now closed door and sighed. I shook it off and turned to Skylar.

"What are we going to do now?" I looked up at Skylar who had a bored expression on her face.

=.=

She looked at me for a second and walked away.

Geez, what was that about!? RUDE! I thought in my head as I walked towards the peeling, striped wallpaper, and the metal, cold railing.

As I took the first step on the creaky stairs, my hair got caught on a nail above were a family picture that was shattered at the bottom of the stairs.

Ugh! I thought to myself again. I tried to rip out my long, tangled, white hair from the crusty old nail. As it pulled some of my hair out, I felt the sizzling pain slowly rise up to my head. I eventually was able to pull it out, but the damage was done. My hair wasn't smooth and silky, so it didn't just glide through. Now the ends were broken, and frizzy.

I kept walking up the creepy staircase and finally made it to the hallway. I turned left and heard a light, *Hiss* behind me. Two deep green eyes appeared out of my Mom's room. I tried to walk over there quietly, but the floorboards were so creaky, that it was impossible to do so. Once I got into her room, I picked up our smelly, tiny cat and again, tried to walk quietly out of their room.

*Hiss* *Hiss*

I got to the doorway and took a step under it. Right then and there, a book fell from my mother's black painted dresser and went through the floor. I slowly turned around.

What do I do!? Can I just like... put a blanket over it or something? I didn't know what to do! How was I supposed to do anything in this house without it falling to pieces! I put the dumb cat down and ran back in her room. It was very dark, almost pitch black until the book fell, and smelled like vomit. I looked down at the hole, and the book was lying under the last step of the staircase.

O.O

I awkwardly reached over to the bed and and pulled a soft, white blanket from it. I slammed it over the hole, and slowly started making my way toward the door.

Okay... I was never here... I thought to myself as I walked out of their room, the squeaky floors not helping me at all!

"Panda? Yo, what's going on!?" It was my sister, who was looking at me.

"I heard a crash!" She tapped her foot, her shoelaces to her black and white converse coming undone.

"I uh... Something went through the floor!" I yelled, and shut my eyes, she would've found out, anyway!

>.<

"PANDA! ARE YOU FOR REAL RIGHT NOW! WHAT FELL?!" I opened my eye to see her angry expression starring back at me.

0.<

"WELL!?" She is soooooo impatient, it's actually annoying!

"O-One of mom's books fell..." I said looking down at my dark brown tennis shoes. Skylar marched downstairs so loudly, that the whole city could hear us. Dust was rising behind her anger, following her down as it jumped from it's place down the stairs. She looked at the book, then back at me.
