The Struggle To a New Beginning

A few weeks later, the fights between Kalila and Terry have escalated. Everyday, she has to put on makeup to hide the black eyes and bruises on her body. She was rushing to work because she overslept and had to take Nova to Miss Della. "Kalila, you're late again!" her boss scolded. "I'm sorry Mr. Smith-" "One more time and you'll be fired! GET TO WORK!"

While she was working, she seen this businessman walk in. He was so good looking; 6'3, caramel complexion, big, juicy lips, big brown eyes, clean and perfectly cut beard, long dreads that was in a ponytail, muscular and she could smell his cologne from afar. He sat down at a booth that was in her section. She took a deep breath and walked over to him. "Hi my name is Kalila and I'll be serving you. What can I get for you to drink?" As soon as she looked in his eyes she melted like a candle. He looked at her and he felt like he was looking at an angel. Damn she's beautiful. he though to himself. "Um I'll take a glass of Merlot, and I already know what I want. "Okay, go ahead." "Let me have the steak and lobster with broccoli and cheese." "Alright, I'll have that out to you in a minute." He grabbed her hand softly, "Take your time, and my name is Lance." he said as he smiled. Holy shit, all 32 of his teeth are perfectly white. She cleared her throat, and smiled. "Thank you." After she gave him his wine and food , she went to the back. He was so intrigued by her and he wanted to get to know her more. Lance had been single ever since 2 years ago, when he found out his fiancé was only with him because he was a CEO. But as soon as he saw Kalila, it was like love at first sight. 

After a while, Kalila didn't come back out, he was started to get worried then he seen her come out front without her apron, crying. Kalila had quit, due to her asking the boss could she leave early to go get Nova, and he blew it out of proportion. He then disrespected her by saying "she could wait to get her test tube baby". Now when it comes to someone disrespecting Nova, that's one thing she don't play about. Kalila gave him words that she wouldn't even normally say. As she was walking out, she felt Lance stopped her. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, I have to go um someone will serve you for the rest of the night." "Wait. Here, take this." It was his business card and $300. "Oh no, I can't take this Mr. Maxwell." "Keep it.. and I would like to get a call from you Kalila... and call me Lance." Kalila had to think hard about it because she couldn't risk Terry finding out. "I'll think about it. I have to go and thank you." she said as she was rushing out.
