Chapter 5

Ryan POV (starting from the bullying incident)

I was walking down the hall when a saw a humongous crowd of populars with hundreds of pounds of makeup piled on their faces, and wearing unflattering belly shirts and leggings. Ew. I don't get why girls do that it just looks really sloppy. I decided to see why there happened to be such a huge crowd of girls. I suddenly heard a familiar voice saying,

"I thought he had a girlfriend." in a quiet voice.

Kylie.

I froze.

I then heard the populars talking

"He does but I'll be his next!"

"NERD!"

and many more extremely mean things.

I got very angry. No. I was furious. How dare they talk to Kylie like that?!

I heard books clatter to the ground and I stepped forward.

When I see Kylie, her books are sprawled along the floor and she looks like she's going to cry.

I shout, "GET AWAY FROM HER!'

I was extremely furious with these populars.

The 'head' popular, I think her name is Olivia, says, "Ryan? Why are you sticking up for her?! She's just a nerd!"

Somehow, I get even more angry.

I say, "Because she's nice and smart and real, something you'll NEVER be!"

Olivia looked shocked.

I looked over at Kylie. I flashed her a reassuring smile and she looked more relieved than she had been two minutes ago.

I walked over to her and put my arm around her. The populars gasped.

I whispered in Kylie's ear some nice and reassuring things. I meant every single one of them.

"Thank you" she whispers.

"Any time," I continue, " If this happens again, come get me."

"Definitely" she replied.

Wow she was amazing and strong for just going through this.

I scooped up her books and handed them to her. I gave her a slight hug and walked back down the hallway to Spanish. I could feel everyone's eyes glued on me. At the end of the hallway, I turned around and saw Kylie with a smile on her face.

I winked.
