Edmund and Lucy exchanged glances, a knowing smile on both of their faces.

"you wouldn't believe us if we told you sir" they both heard Peter say with slight disbelief in his voice. The professor grinned and threw the cricket ball back to peter, the one that had smashed into the window when they went to Narnia in the first place.

"Try me" the professor replied with a twinkle in his eye, like he knew anything and everything.

Peter stood up and nodded, still shaking a little.

"would you like to come into my study and we can discuss this?" the professor said.

Peter nodded and looked at the others.

"I won't be long" he said as he walked off with the professor, throwing the cricket ball back to Edmund.

Lucy looked at both Susan and Edmund and then back at the open wardrobe.

"We have to get back in..." she said determingly as she stood up. She wasn't used to being this small so it took her a while to adjust. In all fairness to herself, she'd gone from being 21 to 10 all over again.

"Lucy.." Susan said cautiously when she saw her little sister run towards the wardrobe again.

Lucy's smile faded when all she saw at the back of the wardrobe was wood, just plain old wood. She stepped back in disappointment, looking down.

"Surely Aslan would allow us to go back....we just left everything and there's nothing we can do about it.." Lucy said, the realisation dawning on her. She took a small breath as Susan wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Lucy ran over and hugged Edmund who was still in a state of shock, staring into the distance. Lucy's arms around him is what snapped him out of his shock, long enough to see that she was on the verge of tears.

"It's alright Lu....i'm sure we'll go back one day...maybe not right now" Edmund comforted. No matter the age, Lucy had always been sensitive, but maybe her being a ten year old again had heightened those emotions a little.

"I'll go check on the damage to that window and apologise to Mrs Mcready" Susan said, as calm as ever as she exited the room.

Lucy looked back at the wardrobe again, longingly. she looked down at her dress and cardigan and smiled a little.

"It's unbelievable that we entered Narnia only a few minutes ago in this world" she said buttoning up her cardigan neatly. Edmund looked down at his brown jumper.

"Yeah, not many pleasant memories to go with it" he joked as he stood up. Lucy understood that Edmund's escape of traumatic events was humour so she laughed too.

"we should go downstairs and grab some food, I'm starving" he said and Lucy smiled.

"since i'm 10 again I'm now small enough to do this" she said before leaping onto Edmund back and clutching onto him "yay, piggyback ride!"

Edmund laughed as he swirled around slightly, making her giggle.

"considering i'm 12 again, i think my strength is pretty good" he bragged which made Lucy roll her eyes teasingly. No matter age they were, their personalities had always stayed the same.

He ran out of the room and slowly put Lucy down once they were near the kitchen.

"You go grab some food, i'm going to go and find Peter. Hopefully he's finished with the professor" Edmund said Lucy nodded and ran into the kitchen. Edmund walked back up the stairs and down the long hall to the professors office. He could hear Peter's voice from behind the door.

"Hopefully Edmund will be okay" He heard Peter said and he sighed, Peter always worried to much for nothing.

"why wouldn't he be?" The professor asked in a curious but understanding tone of voice.

"Well....when we all went into the wardrobe for the first time..." Peter began and Edmunds heart began racing and panic took over.

He slammed open the door to the professors office which caused Peter to look over, completely startled.

"Ed....whats wrong?" Peter asked and Edmund breathlessly said "nothing, i was just seeing if you want any food since Lucy's gone to get some"

'You had to slam open the door and frighten me the death just to ask that?" Peter asked, unconvinced. Edmund nodded quickly.

"Yeah....plus Lucy misses you already" Edmund said which mad ePeter look at the professor.

"I suppose i should go spend time with my family" Peter said and the professor nodded and on his way out, Peter gave Edmund a confused look.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I've never been better" Edmund lied.
