Death is one of the most curious things known to man. A man simply fears death, that is unless you are Henry Jekyll. Scientists had often used their research and discoveries to benefit the world. This man attempted to do that, experimenting on his own flesh and bones. He wanted a world of peace were rage would no longer exist. Dr. Jekyll's experiment had gone terribly wrong, splitting him and his mind into two beings. His negative side, having taken form of a slightly smaller man, had been given the name of Mr. Edward Hyde. This man had been responsible for the murder of five citizens in Londontown, a recent tragedy. Jekyll had been willing to take his own life to get rid of Hyde and his madness, so he aimed a gun to his own head and pulled the trigger, hoping to bring the life of Mr. Hyde to an end. A kind friend of his, Myriam, had found him later that night lying on the floor. Fortunately he was breathing, but he had suffered from great memory loss. Myriam, caring for him deeply, had helped him throughout the years and told him stories and how heroic he was. At one point Jekyll had made up names for him and Myriam, them being 'George and Mary Darling'.

Henry Jekyll had become an overworked man, becoming more and more irritated. As he became more and more irritated, he lost more and more of what little he had left of his memories. As the days went by he could only have hope in Miriam, or more recently known as Mary, for being his motivation and the reason he does what he does.

Ernestine Jekyll, his sister, came to visit the Darling home often, however instead of being identified as her true name she played along with Jekyll's little game and took the name of Millicent Darling. Ernestine's behavior had changed every so slightly, she became more caring and more understanding as days grew on. Jekyll on the other hand had become clueless of where she had come into his life.

Miriam had often been visited by Mama Hobart, each time receiving a "thank you Miriam for your generosity but this man has simply gone mad." Mama Hobart was a prim and proper woman, trying to help Miriam build the same character. Yes, the woman cared for Miriam, only wanting what was best for her and her future. But as time grew on she had began to fear that she too was becoming as mad as the man she tended to.

Time went by and Jekyll grew more knowledgeable on what was in the world around him. He had found a job at a local bank. The job paid well and quickly Miriam and him moved out of a small house to a larger home three four floors up. It was very grand compared to the little town Jekyll and Miriam once knew.

As the numbers of days grew by Jekyll had felt more at home with Miriam. Over the years he now had three children, Wendy, Michael, and John Darling. He loved them dearly as a father should, but had high expectations for them to live up to when they had grown up.

Now this character of George Darling wasn't the nicest man nor was he the meanest. He simply had standards that friends and family had to stand with. Mary had definitely thought he should be easier on her and the children. His constant outbursts on the children occured not to the event of them doing something wrong but the fact that there was still something inside him, something negative and controlling. Coping with it every day was a struggle, for both Mary and George. Perhaps this wasn't the end of this man's madness. This could quite possibly be something far more violent.

As George started to recognize these odd behaviors within him -ever so slightly of an urge to hurt- he became more cold. He struggled to keep up his work life and possibly would be fired soon.

One night, when Millicent came to take care of the children for the night, George and Mary went to a party that the bank was holding. George had specifically been practicing his small talk, Mary seeing that the utterly awkward part of him has stayed with him. This made her chuckle once in a while but was quickly replaced by the fear of the things he may be capable of doing.

When they had returned to their address the children were not there. Their beds were empty and the window was open, Mary wept wanting her children back home. George sat next to her side, trying to calm her. Comforting her seemed like the only thing he could really do. Mary had told him not to talk to the constables, due to their misunderstanding that he was not of the man named Jekyll now.
