Another film ended. The crowd started to flow out of the theatre without any rush, carrying me along, right out to the cold street. People were sharing cheerful laughs, citing the most memorable parts of the movie. The pairs took their way back home, arms in arms, one after the other. I watched them in silence, all those shining smiles brought a tiny happiness upon my face too.
Being frank, I didn't have that many reasons to smile at all.
There's only one really bad thing about relationships, that finish with a breaking-up. It hurts the one, who kicks out the other, just the same.
William, my ex was two-timing me, when he met that blondie. I realised quite fast, what'd happened. And made my decision just as quick. I gave him no further chances. I threw him out of our flat, I mean from my flat, then cried my heart out. The next morning I was all fine. He moved out, took his stuff, and I'd never seen him again.
And life went on.
I worked for a PR agency, organising promotion events and parties for anybody, who paid the price, and made sure all bored celebrities could have some fun in town.
I've kept on working my head out since the interlude with William. I kept on going out, buying tickets to every comedy I could lay my hands on. I just wanted to make sure, that the physical symptoms of a laughter have an influence on my soul as well. I kept on searching for any opportunities to make me smile. I desperately wanted to cheer up.
It worked out quite fine. I watched the world running on and passing me with a quiet serenity. Still, loneliness remained what it was, even with a never-fading smile on my face.
Tonight was like any other Saturday night. The film, the theatre, the people... I took a deep breath, as I stepped out to the street, then looked around. The lights of the theatre melted into the twilight right in a few corners away. I walked home, took some steps faster than usual at those places, where the passages were completely dark because of the missing night lamps.
My head was wondering about the movie, and I smiled. I missed to catch up with the two guys, who popped out of nothing right in front of me. All I could check was that they wore nice fancy suits. I'd have considered it strange, if I'd had any chance for that.
On contrary: I had absolutely no time to scream, one of them covered my mouth roughly. I was bundled into the white wagon waiting nearby in the next second, and off we were at high speed. My arms were squeezed down, I had no chance to move at inch. I had to bear without a word, but with the most fearful look, that they squirted some strange liquid into my face. I fainted. I guess. All went out.
Thinking back later, I remembered somebody taking my hand and leading me through a blue gate, but it was rather a feeling, not an actual experience.
