Paperjam walks onto the field as well as Tenya. I remember, Paperjam didn't watch the sports festival with the rest of us. He had no clue what was going to come at him. Mr. Aizawa raises his hand. The tension is so silent you could hear the light wind. His hand came down and they lunged.
Paperjam creates a small pillar and gets a good look at Tenya. Tenya sends a kick to the pillar, causing it to crumble into the ink it was formed from. Pj pulls the ink to his hand and makes it disappear. Out of nowhere Tenya shows up behind him and gives a light kick to Pj's knee causing him to fall. Tenya continued circling PJ, keeping Pj from hitting him, or escaping.
Tenya dove at Pj, who created another pillar, which Tenya kicked. Pj lost his balance, and fell. There was an ear splitting crack as Paperjam lay there, lifeless. I knew this trick.
"Aren't you worried Palette?" Mina asks me
"No." I simply answer. Mina looked surprised, I guess I was a bit harsh, especially after I gave the impression that I was very positive. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Paperjam has used this trick on me before, that's all, I just want to see if Tenya will fall for it." I get what I want qwickly, Tenya walks up to him, clearly scared, but for the wrong reason. I see Tenya mouth the words 'are you alright' before bending down to see if he was injured. I braced myself, wanting to brace Tenya as well. Paperjam suddenly jumps up as if nothing happened, hitting Tenya with two pieces of wood, both pieces of wood broke making the same sound. Paperjam then hit him a few times before tying him to the ground with a strong rope he created.
"Paperjam is the winner." Aizawa sighs
"That was a neat trick, but it won't work on villains." Momo corrected PJ
"It depends on the villain, they may think they killed me. They'll either walk in closer to 'finish me off,' walk away, or let their guard down." PJ explains
"You didn't come up with that! Gradient gave you that idea since he wasn't gonna use it!" I defend. Gradient looks down at the ground, clearly flustered at my recognition. Either way, Blueprint was up next, and he was against a pikachu.
