Camila tried to speak, but all that came out was a moan.
"Oh my god, you're awake!" she heard.
Her eyes opened up and she looked at her best friend. "Dinah," she whispered.
The tall girl tried to hide her tears but Camila saw, and she smiled.
"I'm ok, babe," she said.
Dinah grabbed her hand and they smiled at each other.
"I must say, I'm kind of glad you're here, have you seen how hot the doctor's are? Grey's Anatomy wasn't exaggerating!" The two girls laughed and Camila winced.
"Oh sorry!" Dinah apologised. "What hurts?"
"Everything," Camila chuckled.
"What were you thinking Camila?"
"I needed to get out of there Dinah. I got hit on by this horrible man, and all I wanted to do was take Lauren home and just have a nice night." Camila said.
"What happened? Where is she?" Dinah asked.
"I went upstairs to look for her and she was nose deep in cocaine, Dinah, and I can't get involved with someone like that. I can't"
Dinah nodded. She was disappointed in the green eyed girl, she thought she would be good for her friend. Camila was finally laughing and smiling every time Lauren was mentioned and she wanted that for Camila but she had fucked up, and Dinah would stand by her friend through everything.
Dinah left her room to let Camila sleep. She headed to the coffee cart and caught Lauren talking to the receptionist. She walked over to her with a scowl on her face.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"I need to see her, is she ok?" Lauren frantically asked.
"She's fine, no thanks to you." Dinah started. "You aren't going anywhere near her. You're the reason she's in this place!"
Lauren looked at the ground, she knew Dinah was right. This was her fault.
"Are you even sober?" Dinah asked. Lauren didn't reply and Dinah knew the answer to her question.
"Get out of here, don't come back and don't call her. She deserves better than someone will swap her out for drugs at any given day. She deserves Riley and that's saying something."
Lauren was angry at the girl, but she knew it was true. Camila deserved better than her. She nodded and left the hospital.
Dinah went back to Camila's room to find the younger girl crying.
"Hey, you ok?" she asked.
Camila nodded. "It's silly, but I kind of thought Lauren would be here..."
Dinah felt bad. She needed to come clean.
"I'm sorry Camila, I did a bad thing." She admitted.
Camila waited for her to carry on.
"Lauren was here..." she started, "I may have sent her away because I thought that was what you wanted, the way you were speaking I genuinely thought you didn't want to see her anymore. So I told her to leave and not come back."
Camila smiled. She loved that her friend had done something like that for her, and maybe she should have let it at that, she should just forget about Lauren, she was no good for her, but in the back of her mind she needed to speak to her and sort things out.
"Will you message her for me?" she asked. "I love that you tried to protect me but I need to speak to her."
Dinah nodded and grabbed her phone. She unlocked it and looked at Camila to tell her what she wanted to type.
