There's Always A Second Chance.

I awoke to the loud ring of my alarm clock. Great I thought .... School. I had missed school for 3 days since my "accident" but now I had to go back. By this time I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in school knew what happened to me. That was all I could think about as I got dressed and went down to get breakfast. Daddy was at the table with his coffee in one hand and his news paper in the other.

"Hey Teddy Bear" He smiled as he put his paper down.

"Hey dad" I couldn't help but smile, when he was in a good mood, everyone was in a good mood.

"Ready to go back to school" He asked.

I sighed. "I guess...."

"Baby girl, you know if you have anymore problems that you can just text me and I'll be right there" When he said that, I knew he was telling the truth.

"Yes daddy" I blushed.

"Now sit on down next to your old man and grab an omelet." He laughed.

We ate and joked together for about 30 minutes then I went off too school... after about 12 minutes of walking I was there. I braced myself for the teasing I would endure when I walked into school.

"You got this M" I whispered to my self as I started for the main entrance.

When I walked into the school I expected everyone to be laughing at me but I was wrong. They were acting as if nothing ever happened. I walked to my locker trying to avoid looking into people's eyes. When I got there my locker was clean. It was probably a teacher I thought. As I was taking the books for my first period class out I was approached by someone. Uh-oh, I knew it was to good to be true. When I looked up I noticed that the girl wasn't at all familiar to me. She had long brown hair and a few freckles on her cheeks, her eyes were brown not to light not to dark and she was pretty slender. She was a very pretty girl. I thought but why was she approaching me?

"Hi," She smiled revealing a faint dimple on her left cheek.

"Hey..." I smiled back unsure of what was going on.

"I'm Renee" She said holding out her hand.

"Maya" I replied shaking it.

"That;s quite a shirt you have on there" She laughed looking at my Panda in a tutu.

I blushed.. Sort of embarrassed. "Umm...No offense but why are you talking to me? I'm sure You've heard the rumors."

"Yea I did" She said calmly. I just turned my head, sure that she was going to say some snarky comment.

"But that's a load of sh*t" She laughed. I quickly turned back around to face her. Was this mysterious girl on my side?

"Wha- What?"I stuttered.

"It wasn't nice what that girl did to you, I used to see you guys hang out all the time. I thought you were best friends but what she did to you was completely unacceptable. I was there amongst the kids who were teasing you. But when I found out it was a teasing circle I left. I wanted to help you but you dashed out of the building before I could do anything. I cleaned your locker for you too. No one should have to endure that kind of pain & suffering." She explained.

I was so shocked at that moment.

"Thank you for the locker but Why do you care so much about it though" I asked a little confused.

"Back in my old school That happened to me. Everyone called me a slut because the most popular girl in the school's boyfriend kissed me. They tortured me about that so much that I tried to kill myself.... In order to stop me from hurting, my mother made me change schools." She said her voice cracking.
