                                                                              Chapter Two                                                                                     Elsa POV

"Um...ok. I will follow you." I said, still a bit uncertain. A strange man clothed in black came up to me on a random Saturday morning, and boom! I have ice powers! And he's... trying to help me? I guessed I would follow him since I have no relative at all.

Without waiting for further reaction,  Pitch hurled a handful of black coloured sand around me. I was rather shocked(duh, who wouldn't be). My eyelids were getting heavier with each second. Adrenaline spiked through me as I realised that I might be in danger. I struggled long enough to inch towards Pitch and glare at him. I so wanted to kick him. But no sooner, the world closed in around me.

When I woke up, I found myself in a pitch black place. I could not even see my hands! I gulped and squinted my eyes.

"Hello? Anybody here? Pitch?" I called out but to no answer. I started to panic.

"Hello there snow queen!" Pitch's voice rang. He lit a lamp and gave it to me. Then he vanished before me. "Sorry but I prefer the dark." His breath was warm on my ears. I snapped my head around, but he wasn't there anymore.

"You are my hand-picked disciple. You know? Your powers will increase rapidly. But to be one, there is a condition. It is that we are supposed to defeat the guardians!" I felt a light tap on my shoulders and I whirled around to see him there.

"Who...are the guardians?"

"The guardians are a bunch of stupid morons. It's not worth mentioning them."

"Huh...? Why?"

"Because they are cruel. And I had to be trapped under the bed all thanks to them. Yes my dear. Now we have to prepare ourselves to battle with them, but first, let me show you something," Pitch said and the corners of his mouth curled up a bit. Was that a smug smirk? I think so. He then hurled another handful of sand on me.

I was suddenly back, back to when my parents were still alive. They had left me behind with our house when I was eight years old. I had to fend for myself and those were hard times.

In the scene I was laughing with my parents. We were in the living room, sharing jokes. They pat my head gently. How I missed those kind of days. When I was enjoying the feeling that I was with my parents again. But the scene shifted. My parents were frightened, I could tell. And they were facing this young boy. He's about the same age as I am now. He had silvery white hair and was carrying a staff.
His hoodie was blue in colour and was V-shaped. He also wore a pair of light brown bermudas. He looked cool. He thrusted his hands forward and ice came out of them.

He is just like me, I thought.

He glared at my parents menacingly. Something doesn't seem right here. I searched around for the then me. I noticed that I was sprawled on the sofa behind my parents.

The boy snarled and hurled ice at my parents. I looked at the asleep me and shouted," Do something!" I realised that she couldn't hear me. I wanted to help so much. To stop the tragedy. But it was too late.

The ice pierced through their hearts and they collapsed, hugging each other tightly. I gasped.

"No. No,no. Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!" I screamed.

So that was how my parents died? They died protecting me? I didn't exactly know how they died. I just remembered waking up one morning and found that they were gone. I thought that they had abandoned me.

Now I know better.

"Saw that?" Pitch asked.

"Who was that?" I cried, haven't still recovered from shock.

"You mean the boy? He is one of the guardians. He is Jack Frost."

"Jack Frost...From the guardians. Those bunch of idiots. You are going to pay. I hate the guardians!!!" I swore I would kill them. It's called an eye for an eye. Jack Frost had to pay his life for my parents'.

"Relax my dear. Now do you want revenge?" Pitch asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Yes." I muttered and nodded my head lightly but I was firm.

Pitch smirked.
