Time Runs Out

Chapter 1:Chilly Shakes

"Ten,nine,eight,seven,six..........." me counting the dreaded last seconds of school. Then there it goes "Drrrrrrrrrring" people shuffling out of the classes celebrating the last day of the week and bragging about the things they would do in the weekend. As for me ,I don't think I'll do anything special this weekend just drawing and watching Netflix hours on end.Some girl bumps into me and almost knocks the books over in my arms.

"Hey,Ave whatcha upto this weekend?" says a girl with wild red hair and enormous green eyes, my best friend and partner-in-crime Holly.

"I don't know. Why?"

Happy that I don't have any plans she eagerly replies

"Why don't we go to Chilly Shakes? like now?"

Chilly Shakes was a sundae and ice cream parlour we used to go to since we were in primary. It was our sacred haven. Of course I couldn't refuse an offer like that.

"Yusssssssss let's go, I'm hungaaaaarey!"but there was something in Holly's eyes something mischievous. Oh no I knew what was coming.

"Oh and there's also a special someone I want you to meet" oh snap. This little snitch had been trying to set me up with a guy since ever, not that Im a player, it's just that I'm not interested ya know?

"How many times do I need to tell you,hols? i.dont.need.a.guy! "

"You can't live just with movies and books ,ave! And this guy is totally sweet. I met him in my bio class. And he's very eager to meet you"she argued.

"Ugh, fine. I'll go,only if you're buying my sundaes for the whole next week" now this is my way of dealing with things. You want me? I come with a price.

"Deal."

As we enter the parlour, I see a guy. Tall. Messy salt and pepper hair. With cool green eyes. Definitely cute. Spotting Holly he comes to me and introduces himself

"Hey, I'm Jake. I assume you are the avelyn that i keep on hearing about. Love your eyes btw" aww this guy was definitely sweet. But I'm not convinced just yet.
