Chapter 18

Lance's POV
Something was wrong. As we were walking toward the lion, Luna kept glancing around. And I know, her home is in ruins, but it wasn't like her. As I looked around, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Blue? Can you scan the plant's surface? I have a feeling that we are missing something.

Of course my cub.... scan complete. There's nothing that I can pick up. Why do you ask?

Blue... we found Luna.... and she keeps glancing around. Like she is looking for something.... or someone.

I know about Luna, who do you think sent the distress signal? And I cannot detect anything other than you all.

Wait you knew about Luna!! How!?

Of course, and you will know in time.
Blue became silent again so I focused on the building around me. How did Blue find Luna? And what did she mean I'll know in time? "Lance? Is there anyone else that, you know..." Luna whispered beside me. How she got there so fast was concerning. "Survived? Yeah, Princess Allura and Coran, there might be more, but we haven't traveled far yet." I replied. Her eyes widened, " Princess Allura!? Coran!? How? Alteans can live fairly long, but not that long!" I chuckled, " It's true! King Alfor put Princess Allura and Coran in a cyropod. As well as me." I fell into a comfortable silence the rest of the way to the lions.

-In the black lion-
" So, Luna. What exactly happened here?" Shiro asked. She took a deep breath. " The Galra came at night, our satellites detected them far too late. They came down with, 20 maybe 30 battle ships in all. My regimen was ordered to evacuate the citizens to the safe bunkers. We were only able to get about 2,000 people in the bunkers when they opened fire. Everyone was hit. Men, women, even... even children. They never stopped, even when we screamed for them to. We tried what we could, we called every alliance we had. No one came, at lest not in time. My regimen did what we could, I lost 27 men, 12 were wounded. We were able to shot down 19 of their battle cruisers, but hey had already landed. I ordered my men to head to the Memory Hall and to grab anyone they came a cross on their way there and bring them with them. I stayed behind to give them a chance to get away. I was shot 3 times, but I guess when I fell they thought I had died. It sure felt like it," she chuckled, " I didn't and made my way to the Memory Hall. When I got there they were all dead. My men and my people as well as countless Galra soldiers. The Memory Hall was completely burned out. I blacked out in the same spot you found me." When she finished I could tell she was still in the past. The way her eyes were unfocused and her stiff body clearly gave it away. Shiro more then likely saw it to and changed the subject. " After you ran off you said something about White? What is white?"
"Yeah, is it some kind of weapon? Or is it a person?" Keith asked, sliding bedside Shiro.
" Yes and no, I cannot tell you anymore then that, I'm afraid." Keith look about ready to argue so I stepped forward. " What Luna is trying to say is that, her people are sworn to protect White with their life's. Luna barely knows any of you. It took her almost 7 years before she told me."
" But why do you have to protect it? Where is it now?" Hunk asked anxiously. I saw Luna eyes soften, Hunk always had that effect on people. " There are many people who wish to harm White, and White's location I can not give."
Paige was about to ask yet another question but was cut of by Black tumbling onto her side. Luna landed on top of me. "Sorry Lance.."
"What was that?!" Screamed Keith.
"Guys.....wh...What is that!?" Hunk yelled. We followed his gaze out the window.
