The X Factor Final

"No matter what place you come in: first, second, or third, everything will be perfect. I'll still love you just as much, and so will your supporters. Okay?" The love of my life says as she grabs both of my hands.

"I trust you," I give her a kiss before I go onstage to get the results of our fate. A producer backstage gave me a cue to go on stage. I turned to leave but I felt Avery's hand grab mine. She smiled and pulled me close.

"I love you, all the way to Africa," She whispered. I smiled at our inside jokes.

"And I love you all the way to Africa," We smile and I'm pulled away and to the stage. We haven't started filming yet. We're just standing there, waiting. Matt is to our right and Rebecca is to our left.

"We're on in 10! 9, 8, 7," You could almost hear the heartbeats speeding of everyone in the room. I turn my head to the side of the stage and catch eyes with Avery.

"6, 5, 4," She gives me a smile and a wink, for a second, my heartbeat slows down.

"3, 2, 1," I'm brought back to reality by the sound of the crowd screaming and awaiting the results.

"We're live," The crowd dies down and Dermot announces that he will say the two performers going through. His words are a blur until I hear the words 'Matt' leave his mouth. I can feel my heart sinking lower in my chest as we give a smile at Matt.

This is our last chance. If 'One Direction' doesn't come out of Dermot's mouth, it's all over. All of our hard work, and long days, it will be over.

'The second act still in the final is..."

This is it.

"Rebecca!"

After that, I don't exactly remember what happened. I don't remember who talked to me, or what I did, or how I reacted. I do remember walking off of that stage and finding myself locked in a room sitting on the floor. I remember crying, and feeling a failure.

I also remember a knock at the door.

I remember being wrapped into tiny arms, and being told that everything was going to work out, and that this person was proud of me. Also, that she loved me. I remember believing her, because everything sounded so true coming out of this girl's mouth. Everything she said sounded as if it were to all come true, and that her voice could never tell a lie.

"I love you, Avery."

"I love you too, Harry."
