Jane awoke to the sound of Mrs.Overmyer's voice singing Happy Birthday. Today was the the day Jane turned 15 . Mrs . Overmyer told Jane that there was food downstairs . She will be waiting .
Jane stood up from her blue and white bed, gazing through her space themed bedroom. Cheap plastic glow stars covered the ceiling. Posters of famous astronauts and astronomers hung on the walls . Decorative build your own space ships filled her shelfs. Also with space themed books , but her most prized possession was her crystal necklace that she has had since birth . She never knew who her real parents where or where she had come from .
Wondering what beautiful or ugly place she could imagine. Mrs . Overmyer told Jane babies came from the stars . Which Jane thought was true . Babies are innocent creatures of life, nothing was bad or wrong .
Jane went downstairs to find her parents sitting at the kitchen table , her mom passing out the food. The food was scattered all around the table . Eggs, grits , pancakes , and fruit . Jane could see a small cake on the edge of the countertop with candles spelling out Happy Birthday .
