Chapter 7

When Nikki answered the phone she had a worried look.

"I know we're watching it now." she said to Caleb.

"OK. we'll be on our way." she said then she hung up and looked at me. "Come on we're going to the hospital." I quickly gathered my stuff then we hurried up and left.

When we got to the hospital I seen Caleb pacing back and toward.

"Caleb." Nikki said and all she did was hug him. She could tell he was upset. Derek and him seem like best friends.

"Did they say anything? Is he OK? I mean... are we able to see him? What is going on?" I said loosing my breath. Even though I didn't really want to talk to Derek, I was so worried at the moment.

"Ari calm down. You passing out won't make this situation any better. Just please sit down and relax OK? Breathe. he's going to be fine." Nikki said sitting down next to me as she held Caleb hand. We sat there for hours.

"Derek Wilson." I heard someone say. All three of us were sleep but when I heard the name my eyes opened.

"Guys wake up." I said and I walked to the doctor.

"How is he?" I asked.

"Sibling?"

"No I'm just a friend."

"Is there anyone here related to Mr.Wilson of some sort. That's who I can talk to."

"Nooo Dr..." Caleb said while looking at his name tag. "Dr. Brown. He Just moved here away from family some weeks ago. I'm his best friend, can you just tell me what's going on please. I can get his mother on the phone if you want, just tell me if he's OK."

"Well." The doctor sighed. "As you know, that crash was very intense. Derek has a broken rib, a mild concusion, both legs were servearly injured and has to use a wheelchair. At the moment, he needs hope." Dr.Brown said. My heart broke when I heard these things.

"Why do you say that?" I asked with my cracked voice. I felt so bad.

"Well there's a chance that he might not be able to walk again." he said and my breathing got heavy and I started to hyperventilate. I was going crazy. I must admit that I really did care for Derek no matter what the situation was.

"Can we please see him?" Nikki said.

"Sure." Dr.Brown said and we went back to Derek room. The sight of seeing Derek hooked up to so many stuff hurt my heart.

"Damn Derek." Caleb said. "Why you man?"

"How you feel?" I asked.

"How do you think I feel?" Derek said with an attitude.

"Aye man. Come on now, she's just worried." Caleb said. "I'm hungry, let me go get a snack and I'll be back." he said and Nikki left with him.

It was a long awkward silence.

"I like how at first you wasn't worried about me but now that I'm severely hurt you just all of a sudden care." Derek said to me.

"You know what I'm not gonna sit here and listen to this." I said about to leave.

"Noo please don't... I'm sorry. Come here."

I turned around and walked to his hospital bed. He put his right hand on my waist.

"I might not be able to walk again." he said not looking at me and I could tell he was depressed.

"Don't say that.....you will. Where's your faith?" I said grabbing his hand.

"It left when I seen that car heading my way."

"Derek. Stop talking like that. Just be glad you're OK and its not any worse."

"What's worse than not being able to walk?" he asked.

"Ok. I don't want to hear another negative thing come out your mouth you hear me? Stop it right now!" I said and he could tell I was serious so he just nodded. "I'm glad you're ok."

"I'm glad you're here. The only thing I thought about when in seen that car heading my way was 'will I see Ariana again?'". He said and he bit his lip. I wanted to kiss him so bad but I was still mad at him.

As I stared him in his eyes, my urge to kiss him got bigger. I finally gave in and leaned in to kiss him.

"Ooh my god baby are you ok?" I heard a loud voice say behind me, and I jumped then turned around. It was a lady dressed in a black jacket, blue jean pants with some black heel boots.

"Ooh... Derek who's this?" The lady said walking up to the bed.

"Who's that?" I quietly asked him.

"Uuhhh.. Ari this is my wife.. Brittany." He said. "Britt, this is Ari."

"Ummm why are you with my husband... You're not the nurse nor doctor. Derek what's going on? You having sex with her? Tell me what's going on?" Brittany said getting loud and Derek had an annoyed face.

"I'm leaving. Hope you get better." I said walking out. Derek was telling me to stay but I wasn't going to. What makes him think I want to stay in there with him and his wife.

DEREK POV

A week later I finally got out the hospital, Brittany finally moved out, and I was now home with Caleb. Caleb was at my house watching over me even though u didn't need it.

Ariana hasn't talked to me since the day she came up to the hospital. Caleb told me that Nikki would tell her how I'm doing.

"Derek. I'm about to run to the store real quick. Will you be good by yourself?" Caleb asked as I watched tv.

"Yeah. I'll be good, go head." I said and he left. 30 minutes later I heard a thump at the front door. I slid my self off the couch and onto the wheelchair next to me. As I rolled to the front door I heard groaning noises.

I slowly opened the door and there I saw was Ariana. She was laying on the ground in front of the door, clothes were ripped and she had a big bruise on her cheek.

"Mmmmm." She said crying on the ground. I didn't know how to get her up without falling out the wheelchair. I still didn't know how to walk. Luckily Caleb pulled up.

"Damn what's going on?" He said with groceries in his hand.

"I don't know, can you carry her inside?" He dropped the groceries in the house then carried her inside to my room while I followed.

"Ari.. Ari baby, what happened?" I asked her as she laid on my bed.

"He hurt me.." She cried.

"Who hurt you? Baby talk to me." I was trying to figure out why she had a short green sparkly dress on.

"A pimp."

"How... Why were you with a pimp... There's something you're not telling me."

"Im a prostitute, I meet plenty of them..." She said crying as she said it. She knew that my facial expression changed. Like what the hell..
