Only love can hurt like this

Chapter one: The epic plan.

Lydia sat in Stiles' room. She hadn't planned to be there, but she was. She'd planned to go to Allison's and study for the biology test they had coming up (not that she needed too.) But instead, she was here. Sat in Stiles' room and watching him brainstorm.  Lydia sprawled out across his bed, gazing at the boy across from her. "Come up with anything yet?" She smirked, raising an eyebrow. "I would have told you if I had."

"Right." She chuckled, shaking her head. "While you come up with a master plan to make us popular, can I go get a drink?" She smiled, looking over at her best friend. "Only if you get me one while you're down there." He grinned back at her, looking up from his notebook. "I'll make sure I do." She laughed, walking out of his room and downstairs to his kitchen.

Lydia smiled at the Sherrif as she walked past him, doing some paper work on the kitchen table. "Busy day?" She asked, grabbing two glasses from the cupboard. Lydia had become used to this lifestyle now. Every single day after she school, she told herself she'd go stay with Allison. But she never did. Somehow every day when the final bell rang, she found herself in the passenger side of Stiles' jeep, on the way back to his house.

The sherrif nodded at Lydia, smiling. "How was school?" he asked, watching Lydia grab the orange juice from the fridge. Lydia shrugged at him. "Same old. I got an A on my algreba test." She laughed as the Sherrif rolled his eyes at her. "You say that every single day." He laughed, watching her taking the glasses upstairs.

When Lydia reached Stiles' room she saw him grinning. She set the glasses down carefully on his desk, sitting in the chair opposite his. "What crazy idea is going to make us the most well known people at school then?" She asked, taking a sip of her drink. "Dating." Stiles replied, looking at her. Lydia spat out her drink when he said that. "What?!" She spluttered, looking at him in disbelief.

"Hear me out. We're the power couple of that school, Lydia. We're the people everyone thinks will never be a thing. If we walk into that school, holding hands, laughing, maybe throw in a kiss or two, nobody is ever going to think of us as losers again. We'll be on prom court, Lydia!"

"Since when do you care about Prom court?"

"I don't. But you do."

"Fine!" Lydia sighed, knowing that this was a battle she'd lost. "So, I become your official fake girlfriend tomorrow?" She asked, scanning him with her eyes.

"Tomorrow."
