(Abby's POV)
This was the last day of fifth grade. The day everyone had waited for. Summer. Avery, Lucy, Katie, Ethan, Jake, Micheal and me had planned to go to Hawaii with Lucy's mom. All I needed was premission. I was the only of us that hadn't ask my parents.
When the school bell rang, I took all my school books and tossed them away. I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulders, and walked over to my best friend, Katie. She had blonde hair and sky blue eyes. Katie got her bag over on her back and turned towards me. "I can't wait to go to Hawaii!" She said. "Not me either!" I said.
We got on our shoes and jackets and went outside. Katie's two brothers, Micheal and Ethan was waiting for her. They had blonde hair and sky blue eyes as Katie. "Bye. See you tomorrow!" She said. "Bye!" I replied as she went towards her brothers. I saw them walk away. I turned around and begun to walk home.
When I got my keys out of my bag and opened the door, a puppy was standing there. I got in and closed the door. Got off my shoes and jacket and looked at it again. "Hi there!" I said and petted it. "Why are you here?" I ask as my mom came out of the kitchen. "Hi honey." She said. "Hi." I got the puppy in my arms and walked to her. "That's Zico. Your new dog."
"Are you serious! Why?"
"Because you haven't had any calls home this year, honey."
I hugged Zico the puppy and let it go, and hugged my mom. "Thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks!!!" I said happy.
After my dad had come home from work and we ate dinner I asked about that Hawaii trip. "Of course you can go, honey!" My mom said as dad said, "No!" I looked at them. "Pleaseee....." I said to my dad. "Ugh, okay.." He replied.
