Sarah's head throbbed an her lips were chapped.
" Oh honey I am so sorry, I tried calling to tell you but Gregory told me that you He would tell you, I never thought-" her mother's sobs echoed through the quiet empty kitchen.
" Mom I never should have doubted you! You warned me about him, but I thought I was madly in love!" She placed her hand on her mother's.
" Mom I also have to tell you something else."
Five years earlier***
"Mom I love him! You can't do anything about it!" Sarah flung her hands up clearly annoyed.
Sarah's mother Rita, just shook her head in disappointment. " Fine Sarah, you do what you want, but if you ever! And I mean ever need our help you come to us." She gestured to Sarah's father. He had been silent through all the fighting, he looked broken, confused and defeated. He suddenly looked up at Sarah and said " Sarah, I have watched you grow up into a lovely young lady. You have so much talent, but if you think what you are doing is right, then I grant you permission to marry Gregory."
He turned slowly a tear sliding down his unshaven cheek. He grabbed his wife's hand and looked at her.
" Sarah I also give you my blessing." Rita slowly spoke the words as if they could break and shatter into a million pieces.
Sarah's heart felt so high that day she never knew what would be coming or if they would be okay. She was living in the present, she hadn't even planned for the future
