Chapter 12

Nine months.
I have been stuck traveling around for nine months with a god damn narcissist. In all of this time I haven't seen or heard from Jackal.
"Hey y/n, come here for a second," Zeref called out to me.
"What do you want this time?" I groan out.
"So I've been thinking," he starts.
"About your pitiful love life?" I ask him.
"Haha, very funny," he says sarcastically. "No actually about yours."
"My love life isn't pitiful, I was doing just fine thank you very much," I complain.
"Sure you are," Zeref smirks. "I'm sure your lover boy is doing just fine without you."
"Yeah and how would I know," I stare at him. "I haven't seen him in nine months cause some annoying little shit kidnapped me."
"Excuse your language young lady," Zeref mocks me.
"Sorry because some narcissistic little shit kidnapped me," I mocked back.
"That's not what I meant and you know it," Zeref groaned.
"Sucks to suck, that's why you swallow." I joke.
"What does that even- you know what? I don't care," Zeref tells me.
"But seriously do you know where he is?" I ask with the slightest bit of hope. I know that I shouldn't get my hopes up. He may act cute sometimes but Zeref can be an real asshat.
"Of course I know where he is," Zeref deadpans. "I know where all of my demons are located."
"Then why am I here?" I question him. "I bet my ass there better people to keep you company than me."
"It's simple really," Zeref looks out into the distance. We've been mostly staying in the forest, right now where we are there's a lake. I'm not sure how long we've been here or when we'll leave but I'm just going where the wind takes me for now. And by the wind I mean Zeref, but whatever.
"I enjoy your presence y/n, is that so hard to understand?"
"Yes," I tell him.
"I've been thinking about something else too," he looks back at me. "I might go back to Alvarez."
"Yeah, I mean you haven't been there in like almost a year," I say to him.
"Okay, you are not helping," Zeref groans.
"I never said I would," I smile back at him.
"Well I was thinking about giving you a choice," Zeref starts to say, "But now I'm not so sure."
"A choice about what exactly?" I ask.
"If I go back to Alvarez there would be no need for me to have a travel companion," Zeref smiles at me.
"Does that mean?" I question him
"Yeah y/n, I'll let you go back to him if you want," Zeref tells me.
"Really?" I ask in disbelief.
"I mean you could always stay with me if you want to," Zeref smirked at me. "I could show you a really fun time."
"Gross," I take a step away from him. "Never in my life time would I do that."
"I didn't mean that you pervert," Zeref laughs at me.
"But are you really going to let me go back to him?" I pray.
"If that's what you want then yes," Zeref looks back into the distance.
Two months later I'm walking up the path of a cute cabin in the forest. I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life.
I knock on the door and then it finally opens.
"Y/n, how? When?" I hug him and just hugs me back. I don't care what he says I just want to be with him for the rest of my life. No matter what happens I want him to be by my side. We stay like that for a long time till I pull away. I look at the eyes I wasn't sure if I was ever going to see again.
"I love you Jackal."
"I love you too, y/n."
