A month later, I went back to the same Starbucks were I first met him. We were meeting for fun, but I knew more than that.
He invited the rest if the gangs, including Maddy and Clara (Luke's new girlfriend).
Opening the handles, I saw Ashton holding two cups of coffee, one of them being my favorite drink. I had no intention to stay for long.
"Hey Kelly!' He said, offering his seat. Oh, boy. I thought. "It's fine. I'll stand." I said. I realized I said that too strictly. He bit his lip and looked down, saying nothing.
After the get together, I walked straight to Ashton saying, "Look. It's been a month now. I just want to be friends." He nodded. I walked straight out the door. I didn't love him. I couldn't love him.
But that just wasn't the truth.
